This video immensely helped me understand how transmissions function

We have a certain development vehicle with a switch labeled "turbo encabulator" on it. I can't remember what it's for, I think a manual override for something electrical. One of the electrical guys has a sense of humor.

Since we have been fabulously smashing on smarts today.......I am curious! @Fabrik8 What is it that you do for a living? I'm guessing a materials engineer or the like....I know @RatLabGuy is a researcher and some sort of Brain Scientist but that is about it. I have always been curious at folks actual job description. The real stuff behind the education, training or more importantly job tittle. Because the later is just fluff to me....what do you really do???

I'll go first. General doer of all things. Better at Fabricating with Metal. Welder of multiple processes. Mechanical minded and electrically knowledgeable enough not to kill myself but get plenty deep enough to endanger myself. Currently a Community College instructor teaching all things Welding from: Metallurgy, Multiple Processes, Blue Print Reading, and a fair amount of life skills and baby sitting.

SORRY OP really a full fledged high jack:D

This video is almost as terrible as my divorce.
Almost being the key word here.

I'm a mechE, doing R&D stuff and dynamics testing, and some design work as needed.. Past career as a electronics engineering technician and also mech/elec technician in the industrial automation and robotics field way back when. Current career is a blending of all that stuff. I'm a very hands-on engineer, (which is how I like it), and sometimes spend as much time being a mechanic or technician as doing engineering.

That's all you get, I'm generally a very private person. ;)
