Just wondering what everyone does to quickly deflate tires....using my tire gauge and a probe took forever at the trail head this past weekend. I see some "cheap" $9.99 screw on deflaters on Ebay but I figure you get what you pay for. Anyone use these? Suggestions?

One of my buddies has some old Staun deflators. Screw them on while you are unhooking your rig from the trailer. By the time you back off and get ready to roll, you are good.

Back when I actually went wheeling, I'd use a valve stem puller and a tire gauge. Fastest way to do it with conventional valve stems.

About 2 months ago I got the Trailhead version for deflating at the beach. It was time consuming to set up but once it was set, it was good to go!

I read and read and read and finally bought them.

Been happy with them and gave some to my FIL as well and he seems to like them as well.

Same. I usually get mine deflated in the same time as the folks with the purpose-made deflators. The "good" valve core screwdriver was $2.

I've always used a broken off valve stem, with a core remover/cap, tightened on the end, + my tire gauge. Done it so many times, I know within 3-5 lbs, of where to check the pressure.
Takes about 15 seconds, per tire, to drop 10-12 psi. Cost? Nothing!

When I worried about airing down I started out with the cheap deflates and they worked very well and I even bought them for all my buddies so they would not wait around to borrow them and then I got a set of staun deflators and those were really nice after I got them setup. FYI the staun deflators do not calibrate well if you go under 12 psi.
Nowadays I just air them back up when they are under 5 psi.

Core tool. Pull the core, only takes a second.

Usually drop the psi in the truck tires when we get back home, too. 80->35 psi in a matter of seconds.

Conventional valve stems were around back then????
They were a new thing. The rubber tires worked better than the wooden wheels I had on previously.

If you were still running the 47s you could just leave the valve cores at home.

Remember the day we rode all ove harlan with the cores siting back at camp in evarts and the damn sidewalls still wouldnt flex....but they made a joke of some "hard" lines
