I know everyone has an opinion on tires. I'm helping a friend with building a 2014 JKUW and he wants to run 37/12.50/17 tires. This rig will be probably 98% highway with the occasional offroad adventure here in the southeast. He wants the aggressive look of a mud tire and plans to run the Trailgear beadlock wheels. I have suggested the MTR/K since I've had good luck and like the performance offroad. What tires do you guys recommend and why?

I'd go with trail grapplers or Toyos. In my experience MTRs are terrible to balance and they wear kinda uneven.

I suggest the new nitro ridge grappler , I put a set on the wife's jk and I swear they are as quiet as a set of Michelin's. So far great on the trail too, same basic construction as the trail grappler.

The new Cooper Street pros are very quiet and amazing Off-road.

He's running some cooper tires now in a 35 and they ride and sound like cut boggers. I'll get him to do some research on the Toyo's and Nitto's.

Their are some brands that make different quality of products. I honestly believe that Toyo and nitto have nothing but quality products. Even used nittos on the dirt track all great tires.

Gumbo Monster Mudders man!

Speaking of tires will someone try a set of the new maxis razor mt's and let me know how they do.

^^^ just did a quick price search on those, not bad price range from simple tire assuming they perform well.
