Hey guys, I recently came across a very good deal on a new TMAX winch (actaully 2 I was looking at as 12,5k for the blaze and a 9k for BIL's Jeep) can get both for $1100(450 on 9k 650 on 12.5) including RFL, shipping handling and 1 year warranty (new in box)

Here's my question WHo has experience with a Tmax?
Obviously there pricd between a top of line (warn) and an el cheapo (MM)
Are results in line?
Monmey is not the main issue, dependability is. WIll gladly cough up the xtra for a warn Ti IF Need be but if the T can compare, why not save the $$$

Please I am looking fo persobnal or first hand experience, I saw is one thing, a guy down the street over heard someone talking bout what they saw at Tellico last week is another.

Thanks

Andy (zubz) sells them and I am willing to bet he can fill you in on em.

I have the 9,500 TMAX - extremely happy with it. Used it probably 4 times this year, line speed is decent, no problems to report! As the previous poster mentioned, Andy at Carolina Rockshop is a TMAX dealer.

Yeah, but I wouldn't go to a Ford dealer and ask how crappy a F-350 is.. I'd ask an owner or check out a message board and see for myself what a POS they are. :flipoff2:

I know he wouldn't carry products he doesn't endorse or think is good quality, but I prefer an unbiased opinion, as I think K5 was looking for. :)

When I was having some work done on my Heep at Andy's shop I had specifically asked him what his thoughts were on the TMAX winches and then I asked him to compare them to Warn. He gave me a pretty impartial comparison despite the fact that he is a TMAX dealer. I guess I should have prefaced my post with that.

You know Rich all the Toyota guys love to tell me how much their Toyotas are better than my Jeep. I guess I shouldn't believe them either. :flipoff2:

Don't believe them.. just watch them prove it to you. :flipoff2:

There is a great thread on PIRATE 4x4 about how Milemarker in the 12K# is nothing more than a Rebadged T-maxx...

Its true.. I bought a Milemarker 12K from a Dealer online(before I found this out) with everything for $525 Shipped IIRC...

Pulled the case and sure enough T-MAXX stamped inside the Case..

POS, I do plan to use it on the Jeep since it only wieghs in at like 3600#...

I reccomend that you research the PIRATE threads.. Good Info...

last one had some interesting info for me....

I'm running the MM E12000 and it's been flawless (so far...knock on wood)...

probably made 30 pulls...including pulling a Bobcat up a ~45-degree incline (scarface can testify)...and pulling a K5 that only had 3 wheels (several can testify from last weekend)...

maybe it's cause it appears it's actually a T-Max?
