Last year, July '17, I had to replace the starting battery in the Winnebago. It was under warranty (3/36 bumper-bumper). I had parked it, but not flipped the battery disconnect, and ran the battery flat. It just didn't come back to life after that.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to pull the RV out of the shop for a wash. Battery was dead. Only been a couple of weeks since I'd cranked it, and the disconnect was off, so figure bad cell or dead short. Battery is marked 3 year free replacement.
So...been riding around with it for 10 days in the back of the truck, and finally had time to get to the Ford place. I took the receipt with me where they swapped it out last year.
Well, when they replaced the battery under warranty, the warranty period/expiration is the same as the original battery, not from when the replacement was installed.
So, guess what??? The 3/36 warranty ran out last week, on 11/23. If I'd gotten to the Ford place as soon as I pulled it, it would have been free...today, it was $116. Tried for good will, etc...no dice.
