Torc Off Road Series at the Charlotte Speedway Dirt Track

They were supposed to be building all kinds of stuff over there for it and apparently it fell through. Looks like it definitely on for this year though. Ill be there.

Me and some friends are planning on being there. Is everyone planning on going for both days or either Fri or Sat? We're debating on Fri/Sat or just Saturday.
Has anyone been to CMS dirt track? Can you bring your own  in? I guess that may depend on TORC?

Either way we're in for at least one of the days.

It's a shame this is so far away. I'm not driving to Charlotte again any time soon.

Take some pictures for the rest of us, though.

I drive past the dirt track almost every day. From what I can tell it looks like they've done a pretty good job of building a track with what limited space they have. A few have asked me if it will be just an oval track since thats the shape of the dirt track. It appears that they'll be running all through the infield too so it's not just an oval. I think It'll be cool to see how it turns out. It's really been a long time coming for this to happen over here.

Dont know if I can go or not, but if I do...gonna be hard not to jump the fence and hop in a truck for a test drive..lol Driving one of those trucks in a race would be my wet dream come true.:driver:

really sucks my fishing trip ended up getting planned for THIS weekend...i'm actually tempted to just wait a week or two and try to go back to fish later......

Sweet, I was wondering just that. I'll be there fridee night for sure.

I'll be there with Brad Lovell in the Amsoil Pro-Lite either working the hot pits on the track or up in a spotter stand.

Stop by the Amsoil trailer and say what's up. Hopefully we won't be working on a truck all day!

Going down for practice tomorrow. See you guys there.

Rob McCachren just put a picture up on facebook of the track. Looks sticky and short.
We do pit stops for some of these guys in Baja, Reno, and other races. They have some serious skills and power, its going to a blast!

I think the Speedway people didn't do a good job of getting the word out on this thing. I'd never even known about it if it wasn't for ^Tommy^.

Afraid they might lose more NASCAZZZZZZzzzzz fans I guess?

I think it's the promoters job to promote the race. I'm not in the business, but I think TORC pays the track for the use of their facility. TORC is then responsible for promotion? Can someone help us out here?

How would promoting this event lose CMS NASCAR business? People can only visit Concord 1x per year?

We went and watched practice and talked to a good many teams today. since I have only heard 2 drive time radio ads all week. I asked a guy with TORC and he said they pay a promotions company to do it for them. I suggested they find a new company if they want to suceed here in Charlotte. The track looks fun and has a few dog laucher jumps in it. It will be a good race.

I went last night and will be going back tonight. If you haven't seen one of these races before you need to. It's awesome!

I hope that everyone that planned on going made it, it was great. Crawling is cool and what most of us do but 900hp is just flat out awesome, there's nothing like speed and jumps. If every NASCAR race was replaced with this I'd be the happiest guy alive.

X2. The Pro 4 race sealed the deal as far as great racing is concerned! All classes were great, and I hope they come back again:wheel: It was definitely worth the 20$ I wish I was there for both days!
Bad ass race thats for sure. Hopefully I'll get the opportunity to watch it again at CMS.
Every one bitches about the long travel distances for most of the "cool" races. This was in our backyard and I had to show my support for it.

It was by far some of the best racing I have ever seen. Really hope they come back next year its refreshing to have something other than circle track racing to watch around here. I am hooked and I want more!!

I've been a fan of short course racing since the CORR days and to see that after CORR went belly up that they can still put on a show like with half the drivers is awesome. Johnny Greaves and Ricky Johnson battle on the last 3 laps of Pro 4 was awesome. I'm really hoping they come back next year.

You really had to be there but here's a video I found on youtube somebody shot of the final 2 laps of the PRO 4 race. It's one of the best battles I've ever ever seen in a race.
