The Offroad Event of the year and its going to be durring nice cool weather! If you missed it last year, you have probably been told how kickass it was! Dont miss it again! I had Baja racing friends from 3 different states come to town and join us for it and they agreed it was the best short course racing they had ever seen. This is the most family oriented motorsports event you will ever take your kids to. The pits are wide open and they will take home fenders, hoods or thier RC Cars signed by the drivers. Maybe we should talk to them about a NC4X4 section in the stands and hang a banner up?

We will be there with the 3 boys and my lovey wife, maybe more kids of my scout group wants to go....

Got some friends coming down from Knoxville. We're planning on going friday night. Proabably be around a dozen of us, looking forward to it:beer:

The speedway offers scouts free tickets sometimes, might be worth a call to see if this is one of them.;)

I had a great time last year...saw a bunch of freaks from here also. Might have been Chris from Marsfab, but we were sitting there on 4th row and there walks Ray Evernham and Erin Crocker Evernham..I was like''HAY RAY!!'' he turned and looked like ''whotf was that''. It was funny.

Definately one of the best shows on dirt. If you havnt seen these trucks live..you will not believe what they do.
The jumps are way cool, but when they hit the whoops...you will not believe how the trucks soak it up. I'll be back again. Thats for sure. You,as well as the kids will love watching the Traxxus r/c team perform amazing stunts in front of the crowd.

an nc4x4 group and banner idea is cool.

Yup! Got pics with Ray and his Daughter, Walker Evans, Rob Mac, TORC Gurls! Etc... Also glad to see they are actually advertising the race this time. It was almost a secret last year!
My buddy Jeff (on the left) and I go to Baja together every year. He drove in from Alabama with his son. They had a blast! I tried to talk Walker into taking me for a ride on the pace lap. He took a look at me and said I would unbalance the truck in mid air! LOL! Would have been cool to have some seat time with a living legend.

That was probably not rays daughter..lol he is married to Erin Crocker..she's easily young enough to be his grandaughter:cool:

Oooops!
Ray plus viagra,:D plus multi-millionaire status,:D+ watching a cute 16 year old come up through the Evernhamn driver development program until she became a woman and proved she would make a better trophy wife than a racecar driver for the win!:D

post up the pic of them if you get a chance.

plus HATE that we are going to be in Bama that weekend.
Two yars in a row scheduled on a scouting weekend.

Sure. Google the TORC offroad racing series. Watch some videos on youtube and decide if you like it or not. They race at the Dirt Track at Lowes motor speedway in Charlotte 2 nights. Basically a huge version of a motorcross race... except with killer racing trucks.

I'm gon'na try to be there, depends on flights. So, the pits are open all the time? You don't have to buy a pit pass like at the late model shows? What time is good to show up and look around first, 5 or 6 or so? One night better than the other?

I wonder why they don't advertise it more, only reason I knew it was coming locally was that I went to Herbert Performance and looked over and saw them grading the track for it.

I know my brother will be there with his RC stuff, so, you've been warned Tommy.

Friday night will probably be the better night. Covered live on Speed too from what I've seen advertised. So if you cant make it you can at least DVR or watch it.

Coming down from Boone for sure Friday afternoon. Anyone tailgating for this?

Tommy I'm going sat night, watch out for my brother RCing. I'll try to bring RK with me if he's free and it ain't raining.

I saw Todd down there with his RC cars. When did he get old and gray like me? LOL!
Guys, the car count is way down and to be honest the race wasnt that good. Compared to last year when they had 10 or 12 pro 4x4 trucks, they had 6. I was pretty disapointed.

Home come every driver that won his class would thank God, the mud devils and his team? Are they the torc Mafia?

I went last night, that was my first TORC race I've seen. I liked it, and liked that you could go in the pits and talk to everyone. You would think with the AutoFair at the speedway this weekend, there would have been alot more people there, but I guess at $20 a pop and the fact that they didn't promote this very much (I live around the corner from the speedway and didn't know about it until I saw it on nc4x4), it won't have many in attendance.
I have to think if Bruton Smith wouldn't have fired Humpy Wheeler a few years ago, the stands would have been full.

Shit... I got an email last week from what I assume is one of CMS's interns. Basic boilerplate, asking if we knew about the event and were interested in a press release and some photos and stuff. I responded w/in 5 mins, told him yeah, send it on, we can put something together pretty quickly. I didn't hear back until the day before yesterday.

I agree... Humpy would have had the place pumped up and full. There was a west coast race that drew a lot of the car count too. That dosent have anything to do with the poor advertising, but 6 pro trucks makes for lesser racing than the 12 from last year.
