TORC OFFROAD RACE APRIL 20-21ST! WHOOOOOHOOOO!

I'll be back out there again tonight. I'm interested to see if the racing is a little better tonight. The track might end up a little slicker. That could make things more interesting hopefully.

How was it, Chris?
I noticed on facebook that Rob Mac and a bunch of the regulars went west for a Lucas race.

The first two races had a lot more action. A few good crashes and more battling. The pro4 race was fair. They spaced out really far pretty quick so there wasn't a whole lot to watch.

My first time, I liked it.
Tommy, my brother had been out there all week with those guys. He got to ride 3 laps in the Red Bull ride truck. He said you couldn't even feel when the rear tires hit the ground.
We were talking to Scott Douglas? Big chunk of hard clay, bought the size of 3 bricks, crushed the air cleaner shroud, cleaner and lid and messed his carb linkage up. He had it on the table saying how close that really was to his head.
I was on the back stretch when the traxxis truck, on second ramp, hit the back wall apex of his jump, you could feel the hit in your boots. He went about 2 more laps with the wheel all cockeyed.
I was sitting on the bench with Todd and his little crew, the Red Bull drivers sat down next to me, people were taking their pics with those foot long cameras - I didn't even know their names, but I'm a fan now.

And, whoever waved at me in the red jeep, I'd a come over but was late to find my brother.

Saw Andy and some others.....

What is the engine rules? Those trucks sounded like they are really wound tight.

I'd like to build one of those buggies to play in the woods with, what Honda transaxle setup is that?

I agree... Humpy would have had the place pumped up and full. There was a west coast race that drew a lot of the car count too. That dosent have anything to do with the poor advertising, but 6 pro trucks makes for lesser racing than the 12 from last year.

Did you see the photos from the LOORS race? Holy crap....

I am glad you got to go and see how truly badassed those guys are.
If they had as much action in a WHOLE nascrap race as they do in 1 lap of a TORC race... They would call it the race of the century and put them all in the Hall of Fame! lol!

Talking about not feeling the rear tires hit the ground...
We rented 2 Wide Open Baja race cars a few years ago down in Cabo San Lucas. They have their own play course thats about 2 acres right on the beach with dunes and all. The guy kept yelling at Jeff on the radio to let off the throttle when the car was up in the air... Jeff didnt even think he was in the air! Those suspensions are amazing.

Not sure on the engine rules. Looks like cup stuff... Dry sumps, and all the goodies.

Did you see the photos from the LOORS race? Holy crap....
Yeah.
We need to to get group together and go to Crandon on Labor Day. I havent been yet, but it looks like the Mecca of short course racing and a heck of a good time.
