Tow straps and towing accessories.

Really do appreciate all the help and advice. I try to overkill things a bit just to be safe but not kill my budget either. The advice helped with finding a good balance. Can't wait to try this setup out soon. Hopefully the trailer breaks are going to be good to go and won't require any work. Haven't had a way to test those yet until recently when I installed my brake controller. Still have to convert the trailer from 6 round to 7 pin to match my truck. I got the connecter now just have to wire it.

For 16 you can buy an adapter at northern that plugs into your 7 and th 6 plugs into it.

I really like the small 6 on the trailers and it seems to last longer.

I contemplated an adapter but all the trucks of my friends and family including mine are 7. I got a quality metal plug for cheaper than a crappy plastic adapter. I've used them for converting to 4 pin and it never seemed super secure.

That's excellent news. I have a Reese weight distribution and friction sway. I think to start I'll hook them all up, the friction sway bar has a friction release without dismounting it and that seems quick and easy.

Yeah, Reese has a different style of sway control that is basically a couple of turnbuckles that connect to the ends of the weight distribution torsion arms. Those can stay connected all the time, AFAIK.

PO said he had to use the weight dist piece or it was a scary ride with his 1500 but he loved it once installed. As mentioned though he never fully mounted it as it should have been just used a friction bolt which seems less than ideal to me. He also said he never mounted the sway brake in any format though and didn't have any issues and that was on his 1500. I have a 2500 now and hope to see similar results. He was towing a low profile camaro though and part of the reason for asking you guys is because I wasn't sure how that lifted jeep would behave in the wind. I was thinking they might swing around a little more acting like a giant kite. Sounds like not really based on the limited responses about running one.

I went with this company and got terrific pricing on straps made in the US and the best was I got to customize the length, color, and clasp style.

So the straps came in today and the orange was pleasant to me as a UT Vol fan, lol. All in all seems really nice the less than $100. Was honestly worried because it seemed a good bit cheaper than other options but OH company and the quality looks solid. I got the swivel hooks for the ratchets and I think that will be handy:

So, have you tried them out, just wondering how you liked them? Quite a price difference from Mac's. Trying to decide what to do myself. This isn't a place I care to penny pinch but no reason to toss money down the drain either.

Sorry I haven't load tested them but I rigged them all up and they seem high quality. The difference on the macs from that video is they apparently made an updated ratchet style that may last longer but this particular style has been working for a decade or longer I'd guess. Fit and finish is solid. Oh and mac's gives you that fancy bag. I had a quality gym bag lying around. I'll certainly update if I have issues. Gutting my heep and dealing with rust now so haven't been towing it.
