Trailer tie down tech

I will never have an offroad rig without these. I've use the fancy ones and I've just cut down some old U bolts and welded them on. Both work great. Then I just use the 2" double hook yellow straps you can always find on sale for 9.99 somewhere. That way I don't feel bad about replacing them whenever I need.
Been thinking about welding/cutting the shape onto my trailer deck also, to reduce the side pull on the straps or d-rings. Ive seen some of the trailer manufacturers are putting them on also.

I think weld on tie down points on the axle are amazing you can either get the fancy ones or the bent 5/8 bar ones from barnes. I have weld on tie down points on all four corners of my rig then weld on d-rings on my trailer. The d-rings allow me to use the these Vulcan straps. This combination allows me to just reach under clip the hook on and clip the hook on the d-ring. No fishing a strap or chain around anything. So much quicker and cleaner than axle straps after a fun weekend. Vulcan also makes straps with built in axle straps.
good idea. gonna burn me some of these out on the plasma
