Trailer winch mount.

That is a slick setup! If they sold that as a kit (without having to purchase a trailer too), I would buy one for each of my trailers.
Yea. I’d seriously look into it. Hell I might try and build one. 2x4 as a lock out is cheap as a temporary solution.

Yes I found one by Midwest Race Cabinets that is like that but only uses a 3500 winch.
I have wired a 2500lbs on a friends trailer and we used it to pull a completely dead buggy over the fenders without a problem. It also pulled a 2500HD truck as well without a sweat.
You can still use a pulley if you need more strength.
I think that's enough.

It really doesn't take much force for things that roll or slide easily, especially with the lower angle of a tilt trailer. On the contrary, a dead tracked skidsteer is a whole other animal. @tw89yj and myself had a hell of a time getting my machine loaded at his place when I blew a main drive hose. Even with a 9k winch and his 10k pound skidsteer, it was a friggin challenge.

Very true

It is until you have the deck loaded and have to remove it.

So moved forward on the receiver mount idea. Son gave me some drop hitch contraption he was given. I’ll cut it up and weld it to the front. Ordered the receiver mount off Amazon and mounted it all up this afternoon. Will do the trailer mount hopefully in the next few weeks.

So I pulled the center board and measured. I’m thinking some 3” channel from the I beam to the first cross brace and weld the tube to the top of I beam and the channel.

I’d weld it just like it sits in that second pic and rock on.
x2. Center it on the cross member and weld it on. Then notch the board to go back around it, so it can still be supported on the crossmember.

So no brace from the back I beam? I'll clean up the old weld and see if it sites flush. I think the vertical tube might be a little short.

I think its hard to see the whole situation in the pics without a couple more angles. Any bracing you can put on it is a bonus. I would want some type of gusseting on the sides to handle off center pulls.

For the love of God, mount this MFer!!!
Working on it but can’t weld it till I can go to the Ville.

Thought I got a cleaned up picture but apparently not.

A brace going back would likely be best, but I think it will be fine either way. All the boards bolted between the crossmembers are going to create some bracing..... Or maybe they will bow and shear the screws on a hard pull.

In my younger years, I had one bolted to just the wood decking with plates on top and bottom, and it never budged.

Well that was pretty darn difficult. Had to use 151 it was so long.

I finally got my hitch winch craddle complete. I had accidentally bought solenoid for a side by side winch instead of 9.5k. When I went to wire it up I followed the way it was originally wired. The winch is a smittybilt xrc. The tiny wire running from the main ground post on the bottom of the winch where the negative battery cable connects to the solenoid decided it wanted to let out the magic smoke. It was connected to the negative post on the solenoid along with the negative cable from the winch. I decided to disconnect it because it seemed redundant. The winch works perfectly fine with it disconnected. Do I need to figure out why it was overloaded or just keep it the way it is?
