Anybody seen anything like this within driving distance? Pictured are Yiro trailers. But they're over on the other side.

I'm not totally against the idea of making one...If I could find a supplier for the doors. I can handle everything else. But I'm not real excited about making strong sheetmetal doors.

From looking at the pics, I know they are built different.... but how much different is it really, vs a deckover trailer with boxes mounted under the deck, down the length?

I checked out the Vimetal trailers earlier this year and almost bought one. Prices seem better and they deliver to KOH, so it wasn’t too terrible for acquiring.

Any reason you can't just buy a normal trailer and weld some underbody boxes, some angle, and 1/8" plate on the top? I wouldn't hesitate to park a car on top of that.

I've done a bunch of research on these over the past couple of years. There seems to be 3 main manufactures of these, and all are on the wrong coast. Vimetal and Yiro are in Mexicali and M&S Fab is in Bakersfield. M&S by far makes the best quality trailers I have found, but also the most expensive. I think the best bet would be to just build one. The box doors should be a breeze for any sheetmetal or fabracation shop (@WARRIORWELDING?). The rest seems pretty straight forward.

Agreed. Why this verses a deck over?

I imagine these are lighter than the traditional deckover option. But, one could build or have built a deckover trailer, that doesnt have a 18" I beam for the frame.

Well since we're getting creative: Pull a regular trailer with a service truck.

Buy a rust free CA truck. Drive the trailer home with it. Sell the truck.
he's gonna lose just as much in title and registration fees

Rent Uhaul in town. Drive home and drop off trailer, drive back and drop off then fly home.
so doing x-country 2x and a 2x plane ticket?

Just hire a hotshot to bring it to you.
