This was posted on FB. I can’t find the actual post. But they are saying Dickey Bell trail, the Southern leg of RML and the Dutch John Trail head will be closed until July.
Fairly certain they told me the trails closed those months so they could “recover” some during the “wet” months. I could be remembering that wrong though.
Dicky bell is the only trail that is completely closed. All of Dutch john was open , just a couple of small sections coming out of the double motorcycle parking lot were closed.
I only go to URE for the front side of Daniel & the rock section on DB. Not that either is challenging but it's a quick fix for a day trip. Now I have 50% less reasons to go. I suspect DB was closed because of the dumbasses making bypasses around the rock section. Now Daniel will flooded with trail turtling mall crawlers
Went this past weekend and its all back open, they cut some trees and bulldozed a path to the right of dickey bell now so that people can bypass it. Between that and the trail they cut to connect to the double parking lot from Dickey bell as well, i kinda dig what they've done.... Beside Kodak still being closed.
I only get to URE about once a year (usually at the get together) but still think about this every time. My kids weren't old enough to remember it. I may hike out to it just to walk around at the Get together in December.

It's off in the woods on the horse trail. If you didn't park and take a hike you have not seen it. Took me a min but I found a couple pictures I took of it in 2014. If I were to guess it's probably 6' wide and 8' or more long.
@ghost I have looked for this for years. Scott Fields took me here one time and I haven’t been able to find my way back since. If you can take me here during the get together I’d be eternally grateful.

I'd be glad to help you find it. It's set back on the horse trail that crosses at the very top. Where all the wood fence is. Last time I was there was 10 years ago so might take me a bit to find it.
