I will be the first to admit I didn't like Transformers as a kid. I thought it was stupid to be honest. And when Transformers came out in theaters I made the assumption it would be stupid also. I ended up watching it on the computer and enjoyed it. When the 2nd movie came out I saw it in theaters and enjoyed it also.

Now the 3rd movie is out and some co-workers have all ready seen it calling it a "must see". Of course the critics ratings aren't great, but there are many movies I have enjoyed that critics haven't. I plan on seeing it at some point, but I don't know what to expect.

I rarely go to the movies, so this will be a nice little break. Anyone else going to see any summer movies? Transformers or otherwise?

I'll be bringing the kids to see Cars 2 sometime in the near future. It should be good, the first one was cool. Problem is, the kids have been watching it since they were babies, now they are 5 & 6 years old, they think Cars is for babies, and aren't too excited about seeing the new movie.

I've only seen about 5 minutes of the first Transformers, and it was on the tv at a tapas bar in South Beach  but I did see most of the second one... I'll probably watch #3 at some point.

i have no interest in any Transformers movie without Megan Fox
The new chick is pretty cute...

We rarely go to movies in the theater... as a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure we haven't been to the theater since we saw 'Defiance' in January of 2009 and we had free passes for that. It was very good, btw.

I think if I were to go, it'd be to the Colony or Mission Valley or the Rialto... where at least they sell  and you expect the place to be a little dingy.

I'd like to see Cars 2 and even though it probably isn't great, I'd see Green Lantern and the X-Men movie, too, because I'm a sucker for Marvel stuff... I still haven't seen the first half of the last Harry Potter movie but I read the books (I'm sorry, I just nerded out loud, didn't I?) so I will see them eventually.

The girls wanted to go see Mr Popper and the Penguins wednesday for "Daddy-Daughter day" so I took them reluctantly.

Not sure if it's just ME getting older, or if movies have just simply run out of interesting plots. But it sucked.

The GIRLS liked it because of the penguins...but had no story, no chemestry, and it was simply Carrey being silly (which ran it's course just after Liar Liar IMHO)

I HOPE Transformers 3 doesn't dissapoint. Hope to see it in Imax 3D since it's now at the grand in WS

Ill be the first to admit im not a big sci-fi or fiction movie guy. i thought the same thing about Transformers/Avatar as most of you. watched transformers on regular tv it was "ok" but then went and saw it at my father in laws(projection screen, surround sound built in to the walls and ceiling with 2 subs in the floor) and it changed my mind. same with avatar. taking the kids to see cars 2 tonight @ the GEM in downtown Kannapolis.....

I saw Transformers 3d the night it came out. I've never been into the transformers movies, but wil watch a bit here or there. This one did keep my interest though and I think for those that are in to that kind of movie will think it was pretty awesome.

I dunno how fanatical some of you guys are about 3d, but I've never been that in to 3d...and I didn't think it made my viewing experience any better...so if it were, I'd save the extra couple bucks per ticket and watch it in 2d.

As for movie going...I catch 2-3 movies a week and sometimes upwards of 5 with the gf. We're constantly going to the local theater, or Badin drive-ins or the local $2 theater. I figure even if the tickets are $10 each it still makes for a cheap date.

I saw bad teacher last weekend...I thought it was a solid light hearted movie, that got a decent chuckle every now and then...but not a comedy blockbuster IMO.

i have no interest in any Transformers movie without Megan Fox

New girl is a Victoria Secret model IIRC.

We saw Transformers 3 on opening night, while I wouldn't call it "must see", it was definitely better than part 2.

The comedy in the movie was good- I laughed out loud several times.

You don't even remember Megan Fox while watching the third movie- that shows how important her role was though.

Visuals are off the chart.

The movie is about 30 minutes too long.

The new robots in part 3 are MUCH better than the new robots in part 2.

It's kind of like Avatar, you don't really even pay attention to the storyline, you just want to see the next series of cool CGI.

The best part of the movie for me? Listening to the dumbasses talk behind me the WHOLE movie....only for this: Keep in mind we are watching "Transformers" (a movie about robots from another planet, taking down buildings, shooting lasers, shape changing, trying to destroy earth) and when one of the real actors in the movie saves a girl at the last second from falling off a building one of the kids behind me says "what??? that's sooo unrealistic".

I wanted to open palm slap him.

i watched it. In 3d. not a big fan of 3d.

Like redlyner said, if you watch it, and take each induvidial scene on a stand alone basis its pretty cool. Once you start trying to put together the jigsaw puzzle they call a plot your gonna get annoyed.

speaking of annoyed, why did optimus prime have a lisp in this movie?

and didnt they fix bumblebees voice box in the last movie?

Watched Transformers 3 tonight. In 2D... wearing the glasses is annoying to me. Anyways, it was much better than the previous two - I would recommend it.

I finally got around to seeing it earlier in the week in IMAX 3D, it was worth the $13.50 in my opinion. There are plot issues, and other inconsistencies if you want to sit there and analize it. But its a movie meant for fun, an escape from reality if you will. And for almost 3 hours (including previews etc) I was enjoying myself, so for me it was a fun experience.
