I voted for Greensboro don't really care where we eat but I can go to any of the cities if needed. I work Friday and Saturday nights so if it was in the afternoon I couldn't make it but if it was lunch I would definately try my hardest to be there and meet some people.

We are planning for an evening meet, seems to suit everyone best. Currently looks like greensboro but if Highpoint gets more support too we could do it at one of the restaurants off 68 right off I 40, think that would work, somewhat like a halfway point between the 2 cities. but am not very familiar with the places over there.

Thoughts?

I mean someone is celebrating their 50th Anniversary their and they will have control of the front parking lot and I was very disappointed with rear parking area, very small. But they do have half price wings on Saturdays.

Fair enough, We could do Chilis, Hooters, Maybe even Smokey bones (never been there but Im sure it would be good) off highpoint rd in greensboro, maybe a couple other places around there, or we could go up off NC68 to any of those places. Wherever is fine by me, near the highway makes sense.

Smokey Bones sounds like it could be fun. Where is it at and does it have patio seating?

Have heard alot of good reviews on food, a few bad reviews on the service, so I really don't know, looked online and I couldn't tell if they have patio seating, but its on Highpoint right, right next to Darryls, the other side of the highway than Hams, also on the opposite end of the street.

Hams in Kernersville has a little strip mall or what ever you want to call it right behind it. So there is a lot of parking. Its right off business 40 also and has a patio. Just some information. I'm up for where ever but that hams I know well and I am close by.

I go to that Hams aswell as the one on Battleground, and the Hooters in Highpoint, so I know those 3 locations, lots of parking and usually good service. We will determine location soon enough. Wish we could do more about the RTI ramp, but doesnt seem it will be possible for this meet.

As far as Greensboro, Hams on Battleground isn't right off the highway, but it does have lots of parking, and patio seating.

Im open to suggestions for locations in greensboro, or between Greensboro and Winston (kville) or between Gboro and Hpoint

hooters always makes me sick, but that wouldnt stop me from coming. Im really looking fowrard to it.
there's also Smokey Bones on high point rd. they have a great menu, and its a lot like a sports bar. although the parking lot isnt very big.
id just really like to see this happen in Greensboro, i know all of us probably dont get great gas milage, but my truck seriously gets like 6 MPG, lol

Hams on Highpoint Rd would work, but if they are gonna be super busy, definately not the best place for us, 50th anniversary could mean 50 cent drafts though... Its a complicated matter now. Lol

Regardless though, we do need to find a good place that will suit us for parking, seating, and possibly some outdoor oogling of vehicles.

oh man... 50 cent drafts? if it ends up there and prices like that im def gonna need a ride home! lol

Lol it was 75 cent drafts not long ago at the one in Kville, thats why Im a little thrown off. Thats not the case though this time. We could always go to Corner Bar down by UNCG on tuesday night... I just dont think any of us would remember meeting eachother. Mug nite, Bring your own mug, whatever size, filled up for a dollar with whatevers on draft, even ying ling.

yeah we'd been on here the next day talking bout "man i think i went to hang out with a bunch of other 4x4 fanatics last night, but all know is i drank some beer and now my head is killing me!" lol

only problem is i work 2nd shift which would count me out. but if it works out better for everyone else, i could take of work. i been needing some time off, just aint crazy bout a tuesday, been wanting to take a friday off and head to the trails to camp out.

Completely joking, would be an awful place for a meet, but that pretty much sum's up the following morning there. I am open to about any restaurant, wings and beer always sound good though. East Coast wings does 45 cent wings on monday, but we need a weekend meet.

wings and beer sound great!
hooters around 2-3pm we could beat the croud. im not crazy about hooters but i could eat before hand and just have a few beers.
def need it to be a weekend thing.
too bad Asheboro is out of the way for almost everyone, they have this place called the varsitey, great wings and beer specials, HUGE parking lot and not to metion smoking hot servers!

Hooters in Highpoint, all the girls look good (last time I was there) we went on a wednesday, got the big daddy drafts for 2.50 a pop (I know its high, but its a 32 oz) and the boneless wings meal for 5.99.

2-3 PM will be too early, I believe the plan is to meet around 6-7 ish on the 10th, I know you said you work 2nd shift, and I hope that doesn't interfere too badly for you, but seemed to be the best time for everyone.

Over my dead body... Lol, When we went to hams in Kville for 75 cent drafts, we ended up doing a couple jagerbombs... I use the term couple loosely. At 8 bucks a pop, those 75 cent drafts didn't cover themselves. Tab was rediculous.

I figure if Winston and Greensboro are going to both be popular, and Kville is too, then do the meet at Kville hams, would give a total of 20 people right now + guests and all if we did that and everyone who voted for those locations came out. Could end up being pretty big, figure 1-2 guests per vote so we looking at 40-60 folks pretty easily.

that sounds like a good time, it will look like a 4x4 invasion! might need to call ahead on that. idk where it is but ill google it. i got some real tuning up to do to be able to drive my truck, the accelerator pump has been leaking and might have something to do with the terrible gas milage.
also im in the process of starting a new club, Down & Dirty 4x4. might be able to get a few more people interested.

Ha, my jeep situation is pretty rough, long list of things needing fixxed, wouldn't be so much if I had time and proper tools, but Ive been busy so I honestly don't even intend to bring the jeep. Anything is possible though, Im going to a NAXJA meet on saturday more than likely, and if all goes well I will steal a few ideas from them. If you want to discuss anything about your club with me feel free to shoot me a PM.

I should mention I have a good deal of friends who are 4x4 enthusiasts, just not active on here, or not even members.

Some of them will probably be coming out aswell, can figure atleast 10 more guests depending on where it goes down.

yeah im new to this forum myself, i love it though.
im still learning how things work. i want to put a picture of my truck for my avatar but dont know how.
ill shoot you a PM about our club.

Small donation to the site to help cover cost of hosting and what not, well worth it, very cheap in comparison to other sites.

Can I change my vote from hams in Gboro to the one in K-ville. haha
After stopping by the one in Gboro I don't think it will work out. Even though its a longer trip for me it's worth it.

I am heading going to the sfwda meeting at Uwharrie tomorrow if anyones heading out that way let me know love to meet some other jeep guys in the area.

Have a prior commitment to a NAXJA meet, can't change your vote but we can just make a note, We could find another location, but Kville Hams does seem to be the best.

It seems to me that the location isn't as important to most people as much as a set date and time so people can plan accordingly.

So we have July 10th around 6pm as of right now is that accurate? Now all we need tto do is decide on the place.

Exactly. Hams in Kernersville is fine for me, and it allows the Gboro/Winston/Kville folks to come out.

Kville Hams ok with everyone?
