Been looking for a fix for the whole "not having headlights" problem so after alot of junkyarding i found the answer..... BMW headlights
Fitted them in the desired location securely with masking tape
Brainstormed how to mount them into the location and noticed some old seat brackets laying in the junk pile
Cut and trimmed one of the aluminum pieces
Finally Installed and wired up
Only bad news is that i could only find one set during my exploits at the junkyard so as soon as i find a driver side set I'll be ready to finish up but good news is i can finally see at night. How big of an upgrade is this over the stock headlights you ask? Tremendous upgrade, from what i can tell against the bmw headlights compared to the one broken stock headlight it seems to almost be double the lumens.
Although there was one problem with the doors.... couldnt see anything past them and they started falling apart on me. Only one thing i could think about doing, half doors
figuring out my cut
and cut made
Bondo Time
And this is where im at right now, just gotta start on the passenger side now
Dirka and I got alot of work done on his tracker today. Heres a before shot.
Then we cut the frame off in front of the motor mounts.
Then we put his new to him 37's on and stretched the front out 9 inches.
Then it was time to do some tubework, narrowed the front so we could bring the shocks inboard some and have room for the bigger tires to turn. You can see the shock hoops also. We will be tying these in more later.
I hadnt seen this build on here but it was good to meet you and see it in action at DADFL (I was in the red samurai buggy). You shoul try to make it down to Gulches for the Memorial Day event.
Oh yea man I'm sure well try to make it down to the gulches for that but I gotta do some repairs first though. Front driveshafts shot and I sheared two studs off of my passenger side knuckle
