Truck show (10/31)

In the past, the local vol. fire dept. were the ones parking folks, and the 2 bucks went to them. Dont know how it is now.

Personally didn't like the rule against Eric (bottomland4x4), I figured those other guys would buy slicks and be ready for him, but I guess someone complained and it is "Galloways" show not "Scott's" show.

Yea that one I wish wasn't in place especially since I run ROCKdubs myself, oh well, thats what the Nov 14th Pull on the Strip will be for anyway :smokin:

"In the past, the local vol. fire dept. were the ones parking folks, and the 2 bucks went to them"

That's cool, but let people know on the front side.

I got 3 post on this and I wasn't even there?

as far as the rule change in the grudge pulls, well it is their show. no big deal.

i have personally dealt with lester and darrell and todd, and sometimes you have to chase lester down, but i always take that into account when i go there. i also try to do business with them on their slow days(weekdays usually) and not during the show which is their busiest time.

as far as getting a good deal with lester i have found that sometimes you win sometimes he does. you have to remember that he is in this to make money. also he has a monopoly of sorts on the used tires and trade in parts business, if you dont like the deal where else you going to go?

i like shooting the crap with darrell, he always makes time for your questions and is helpful. same with todd, sometimes you can get a better deal with todd than you can lester.

as far as the show trucks go, i remember my first one and there was a lowrider with a dragon and big ol display with it and it won best of show! kinda odd being that this is a 4wd shop!

as far as how the show was ran saturday i have no clue, i wasnt there. but i will say this, back in april with all the weight changing and all with the grudge pulls went really smooth.

ricky, you have a tough job, you are caught in the middle between current days business and "we have always done it this way." some things will never change.

IT IS WHAT IT IS!!

I scored a 2 out of 5 on saftey....
Under saftey on the score sheet it says
"Fire ex, first aid kit, Roll cage"
I had a fire ex,First aid kit, and a FULL Exo cage...HAHA
I dont care what i place as i just go to the show to try and support a event that is about lifted trucks and to hang out with people that i know. I just hate the BS that always goes along with it...and thats why they have lost my support.

Thats what Im saying, same thing as me I get beat in drivetrain with an S-10 that didnt even have a driveshaft or matching gear sets,w/ open diffs.

I know its a 4x4 "show" but still if your going to post score sheets with mandatory specs they should judge by those.

I know its rediculous to complain about a show but when you give them a good sum of money to show AND get in,it should be worth it in my opinion.I do like to go and meet people and learn but its just not worth it to me anymore to try and participate.

It's better to go there durin' the week to trade around, and no your not gonna get what you want out of your stuff, but, he has always gave me a fair deal on a trade. Not to mention he will trade for almost anything. Find someone else that will do that. X2 about Darrel. He has always made time to answer any ?s I've ever had. My .02
Not all of us can take off during the week to go trade so we incorparate it with going to the event. plus have you priced a set of 49's on 20'' alum. wheels ??well over 3500 dollars... Too only know there worth under half what you paid and there at least 85% hurt's...not talkin bad about galloway's I still trade with them and know most of them by name.. I just wish there judging was just a little better that's all.

reading all this i'm kinda glad i didn't go. not saying anything bad about galloways since i've never been there but i know a few that have had stuff done by them. from what i hear best around the area. but the way it sounded it was more like a community day that you had to pay for. personally since its not a huge show i wouldn't charge admission to show and maybe a little to park, and maybe five to pull (just so you can have a little prize money. it should be more about showcasing what galloways has to offer to people. by showcasing what services they provide. a event like this shouldn't be about gaining lots of money it should be about bringing the 4wd community together.

35.00 a truck,7.00 a head..+parking...selling stuff all day also... .Where do they spend there money??? The $2.50 plaques they hand out???

maybe the bfg cups/mugs or supper swamper shirts or hats they raffle off haha...I doubt they spend or loose money at the shows
:flipoff2:

yeah thats hard for me to believe too,I was surprised when they even stepped down to the cheap plaques but w/e.

im with chromerunner + running it all at their shop on there on land so they dont have to rent a place out. selling their merchandise. theres probably more

ur going to have to explain now. unless u dont want to im not forcing you but in my opinion you just kinda dug yourself into a hole

I didn't say they were doing it right or wrong nor am I defending them or pointing fingers at them for the fact that they do not make any money at their shows

Myself/4x4cross Racing Is merely stating facts in an effort to correct the incorrect assumptions of others.

You know what they say about what happens when you assume something . . .
