Geez... your favorite candidate, based on your ideological stance is not running, or can't win. Do you do what's "right" and vote your conscious, or make sure we don't end up with a career politician, liar, thief, murderer, scumbag, etc.? Trump is not the GOP candidate - he's not a "Republican" in any sense of the word. He's more like a 3rd party candidate than that stoner, who couldn't win the local vote in his own town for any position as he's an idiot. A nice, easy-going, seemingly similarly-minded guy - until you realize that, yes, even he is a politician. Trump is a wildcard, but one that isn't embedded in the Clinton Foundation or other institutionalized rich-getting-richer schemes dreamed up by our elected officials. Other schemes? Sure, he's rich too, but not at our expense.

Flame me all you want with the "voting for the lessor of two evils" crap, but I haven't found anybody to vote "for" for many years that could win. Is the system F'd? Absolutely. But don't let that get in the way of preventing a pure evil from continuing to turn this country into a feeding frenzy for the scumbags of the world. Fix it later. How? I have no idea. But electing Killary is not a path this country needs to go down. Another 4-8 years of being screwed? Not for me...

The only thing that video shows is that his beliefs do not align with the hard core Libertarians.
Bingo.
No I don't think Johnson really is a Libertarian... any more than Trump is really a Republican. (Sadly, Clinton pretty much IS a Democrat, too bad they can't disown her too)
It's just the ticket that he was able to get a nomination under.

So... what? Just goes to show that going based on party, not person, is stupid.

the more i see about johnson the more he appears to be hillary with smaller balls. i'm voting bacon, to hell with it.

This is strictly newsfeed propaganda...but I've found it funny when I scroll through the newsfeed, how many people that like to think they're versed well in politics, but spout off before they do any real research, were pro-GJ when they found out their options were Clinton and Trump. According to them, Johnson was a real people's president, and could do no wrong...and they wanted him to succeed, because a libertarian has to be more middle of the road and align better than the other two options. After a little digging, their memes are starting to change tune again, and slowly head back to Trump. The more someone hits the spotlight, the more skeletons come out.

Bill Weld seems like a super sharp guy judging from the interviews I have listened to.

Johnson is no saint, and is not my perfect candidate, but based on the candidates that are on the ballot in all 50 states, and more importantly, on the ballot in NC, he is the best choice of the options.

He does seem sharp, its a shame his views are so much more liberal than mine. But he's still more conservative than Trump or Hillary...

that's where I'm at. Nowhere near perfect, but I'm still going w/ the guy w/ the fewest - or skinniest-boned skeletons.

Yup. Out of all 8 P/VP candidates (yes, that's assuming we laughing also count Green), he to me comes across as the most sharp, genuine, clear headed and well spoken. But yes, in a lot of ways he is awfully liberal to be on the Lib ticket, especially his record on guns.
But again you just have to take some bad w/ the good and choose which compromise is the least awful.

GJ seems like a loon that couldn't get the Democratic nomination so he jumps to Libitarian.
Except weirdly, it's the other way around - he was a Republican before a Libertarian. In fact he was a Repub governor for 2 terms, and initially ran as a Republican Prez candidate in 2011, then changed to Libertarian.
Aside from the whole legalizing pot thing, his policy views overall are much more Repub leaning than Dem. Hell in a lot of ways he's a better Repub than Trump.
But he is, in fact, clearly a loony toon.

Some interesting data here from the most recent Quinnipiac poll
QU Poll Release Detail
Note that for "if the election were tomorrow", Johnson is up to 13% average, within the margin of error for the debate criterion. so, who knows, it may happen.
Maybe more interestingly, among younger voters, Johnson actually gets a higher % than Trump.

Clinton's lead among the 4 is shortening, but if you compare to previous polls it's more from her numbers going down more than Trump's as Johnson goes up. So that actually suggests if he's a "spoiler" for anybody, it's Clinton, not Trump.

I've been a Johnson supporter since he was nominated, but he's getting real hard to defend.
Not that the alternatives are any better

It's a sad state of affairs when these are the best that the greatest country on earth can trot out to vote for. It's almost like the country wasn't taking it seriously at the primary.

Like, "Hey.... let's see what happens if the choices are - I proven liar who continually covers stuff up, a rich bigoted loudmouth who can't filter his own thoughts and a guy that wants to legalize pot and obviously has been smoking a lot of it because he can't seem to remember stuff that anyone in politics (or a random 8th grader) should know."

yeah, this was really quite disheartening to say the least.
