Trump Visit to High Point University

WOW.... the value of an education. Took these little gems right off the Fox 8 news story.

"I'm a little disappointed in High Point University for allowing him to be here because I think of this environment as one that promotes diversity of one that includes all types of ideas," said senior Elizabeth Reichart.

"Caudle and others are planning a protest on campus to show their displeasure that Trump is on the school's property and to highlight their support of all people and viewpoints."

So..... you want to promote diversity as long as it only includes YOUR types of ideas and viewpoints.

Wild assumption warning...but I'd be willing to bet mommy and daddy paying for those extremely expensive educations aren't voting Hillary. And any time I see college kids speak politically I can only think of this quotation:

If You Are Not a Liberal at 25, You Have No Heart. If You Are Not a Conservative at 35 You Have No Brain

I actually had a college professor call me a heartless bastard and toss that at me because I laughed at another student's presentation in a business ethics class.

Sent my son off to WCU with that philosophy hoping he would understand its OK to experiment and find what you believe on your own without bias (my input, teachers..etc)

He's ready to transfer to escape the libtards now.

Another saying that holds true in college (that I found anyway)
Those that CAN, do
Those that can't, teach

Broad paint stroke I know...but it was very true in my world

Graduating from Western in may... the school is full of them, and people who think they should get any and everything for nothing. Last year the African Americans decided to sit out class cause of black life's matter and the protested when they got zeros on assignments and test they didn't do during the time

I was watching the same story last night and had a good laugh over it. I remember something being said about how the "Student Diversity Club" or some shit would be left cleaning up after Trump's speech. That doesn't even make any sense.

Go to engineering school. You won't have time to give a shit about what anyone else thinks, especially the lovely people in the liberal arts classes. You know, the people who complain about having class assignments because they'll only be able to party 5 nights instead of 6 nights that week because they have to do homework. My answer was "Wait, you get to party...?" Or those same people who didn't go to test reviews (where the questions were almost literally spelled out prior to the test) and then complained about their shit grade on the test. Everyone who attended the test review got an easy A; I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere.

I thought you went to college to get an education, not to be offended by the political leanings of the surrounding students? Take your classes and graduate, and ignore the rest of it.
I went to make an attempt at bettering myself. If who I was surrounded by signified the world I'd be moving up in, I don't want anything to do with it.
I make a good living using what I have.

I think the current statistic is something like 85% of people don't find a career in what they went to school for...so those particular people, probably not. But I get what you're saying, each profession has stereotypes for a reason.

Precisely sir.

In our apartment at Clemson we had 3 Computer Engineering students from SC and 1 political science major from NY. The poli sci major would come back spewing everything that his liberal professors had told him about current events, then we would show him the other side of the story. We converted him pretty quickly.

I've only heard stories, but I would love to have been there when Skerb got thrown through a wall.

Since the thread has derailed anyway...I'll say this, my wife went to WCU (graduated in 3 years, managed to no become liberal), and I remember what the campus looked like when she was there, compared to what it looks like now. Holy wowza, and we wonder why college costs are increasing. It's gorgeous, but I can only imagine what it cost. Any time I went, we always drove up to the airport where they had stop off points...to...uhhh...overlook the campus. I was glad to see that hadn't been touched really...because I...uhhh...proposed there too.

It's kinda weird most of the "dorms" being built on campus now are privately owner and western leases them. With the bottom floors being retail space. But it is a nice looking campus

I had a few classes that I ONLY went on review and test days. Still pulled an A or B in those classes. Mainly auditorium type classes where I wouldn't have learned anything anyways.
