Has anyone here had trouble ordering from Dell online? I tried to order a desk top last Saturday on a 24hr sale. It didn't go through so I missed the deal. I waited till Thursday when the promo's are updated to order again. I printed my cart at 10:40pm last night when I ordered. After I entered my info I got the "Thank you, you will recieve an Emai with your order info" message. Still no Email. I called the order assistance and talked to a woman that could barely speak english(probably located somewhere in India or Pakastan). She didn't understand what I was going through. I'm about to the point of going to the big box store and buying one off the shelf.

Call back and give them another try, also try email support. That doesn't work, I like intrex locally...

I build my own, so no help, I will say that of the major manufacturers, Dell has the best support. Not neccesarily the best systems, but the best support.

I my office is a Dell shop... After about 6 years dealing with NON-English speaking support, here's a little tip:

Call support, if you get one of these folks, ask to speak with someone else! Hell, I've talked to 3-5 people just to get someone where English is their primary language... not lazy attempt at lang. #3 or 4.

BTW, my wife & I ordered in a couple of new Dells after the first of the year and had the same issue (couldn't do it online/missed the promo date). We finally got an American sales guy and he made it worth the effort... same boxes w/ doubled the RAM, upgrades to 17" *Digital* (from analog) flatpanels for the same $$ as the promo, & "free" shipping.

Or better yet, buy gold support for another $50 and have your calls escalated to english speaking Tier 2 support and not have to deal with all that crap. :flipoff2:

After an hour on the phone with a sales lady, I finally got my stuff ordered. She also gave me an extra $50 rebate that I over looked. I believe my trouble was using the coupon I had with the EPP price through work. She had to put me on hold while she called her tech people to resolve the trouble. It should ship 04/20 or before.

i know this is not what you may be looking for...but honestly, there is no reason not to buy an apple. No viruses, sleek looking, powerful, better OS, good prices, and no Rob...I disagree Apple has the best service support in the industry in my opinion.

We just started a house off of Gumtree Rd not far from you. Hope to be moved in by Augast.
