UNF

WHAT A DAY!
Where do I begin:
bad battery
u-joint, rear
exploded driveshaft (separate incident)
clutch linkage dropped out
some body damage
chopped up TSL's
throttle linkage came undone
PS gearbox almost fell off
wrapped a leaf spring
smashed front diff cover
sticky throttle
limped home in FWD low.
All in all a good day ! Time for a beer. I'll get some pics up after i shake a tower.
Thnx for the help witchdoctor.

At the outpost now for a signal man rough day for you at least you had fun I'm sure we weren't on the same trails LOL I'll post pics tomorrow when I get home

i think you proably set some kind of record for most problems and still drove it out of the woods on it's own power. but still had a good time. the drive home was nice...AIR CONDITION:beer:

good to see a few more NC4x4 dudes wheelin yesterday.
God it was aweful hot tho.
I think there was some jeep driveshaft kriptonite buried in the rocks around budweiser because those rocks broke two jeeps within a few feet of eachother. Not fun when its that darn hot.
But hey glad you guys got it out and Russ nice meetin ya.
Nick I'm sure I'll see ya again.

Well I made the trip with no broken parts. It was my first time up to UNF and I had a blast. I stayed on the moderate trails and that was plenty for me. My god all the looks I got crawling around on the trails. I guess they never seen an XK back there on the trails. People would look then do a double take and stair at me as I went buy:driver: My Kids even asked why everyone was starring I just laughed and kept crawling down the trail. I got some pics when the trail let up none of the hard stuff my spotter (wife) and I were more concerned with making it.

LOL, I was one of those guys starring. I have never seen a Commander ont he trail before. The reason I was starring was I couldn't believe how nice it looked, and thinking to my self how I would cry if I scratched something that clean looking.

I know thats why people stair at me for the most part. And any scratches I get will painted with bed liner I can't wait to do my bumpers but I haven't hit them yet. Thats the purpose I bought the Jeep for to get me my family and all are crap to the beach and trails and just have fun. I belong to pretty large Commander group that mod and off road mine is modest so far compared to theres. At least I had the windows down and the air off right. To this day I'm surprised what I crawl over with that thing I can't wait to complete my build.

Nothing wrong with windows up and AC on, I sure did Saturday... it was too freking hot. :)

Russ- I was hoping you would have a better day after the battery switch. I was the one commenting on yours and the propane yj in the parking lot. Didn't see yall get back before i rolled my buddies 4wheeler and had to head out because of it. (wasn't a bad one, just kinda teeter tottered on it, and his brakes aint the best in the world).

SAL- That was one unique rig, i saw you out there a couple of times. Looks like it held up very well!

We had a very good relaxing day out riding the atv's (minus my mishap). Got to finally see the trails i had been itching to see for months now and saw a bunch of cool rigs. I got some pictures of a 4dr JK rubicon coming up what i think was kodiak and im pretty sure he wasn't much but stock. Ill upload some pics when i find the camera. haha.

I was highly impressed with the stockish rubicons out there. Those things do well for what they are. Just gotta get a driver that doesn't like to pick daisy's along the trail.

Sal-xk I saw the XK at one of the campsites I think. Looks real good man, good to see one lifted and getting wheeled

Well, next time you guys see me say Hi I don't bite I promise. I was taking it easy because I was alone on the trail and have no self recovery equipment on board yet. If I had some one to pull me out or off something I could take more risks.

I saw you too. I was in the lime green TJ. I apologize. I should have asked you to join us.
