Video of me on Rocky Mount Loop just before the other TJ back flipped and barrel rolled. I was smart enough to give up and go around.
Couldn't get embedding to work so here is the link to thevideo:

I dont know why you jeep guys keep showin us toyota guys videos like these...... just makes our toyotas look that much better when we crawl right over hahaha :shaking:

orange blaze trail marker is right there. I would say he is on the trail.

I always thought they just meant this was the trail.

Technically at one point in time that was off the trail, that orange blaze marker is showing the edge of the path to the left. That was way back when the 3 paths were more defined many years ago. Now that entire area is pretty much "the trail". Its like the Kodak Rock Garden, the entire area (even between the 3 paths) is the trail. So he was in the right, in fact we have taken vehicles up that route on Forest Service workdays with no comment from the Forest Service.

I did not ralise that area was that bad now. I thought there were still three trials in that section. TY for the clarification.

A highly modified tin can crawling over it easily doesn't embarrass me
as much as the YJ with 33's that went over it right before me.

thought it was dropped if you want to get tech the orange markers alot farther back then my jeep was at anypoint on the hill
I hope you read my entire post, because I was supporting the fact that you were on the trail.

I mean there are still sections you can tell aren't the trail, but the few that are left have trees in them. So unless you are going to plow down a nice sized tree you won't be going off the trail in that section. Especially in the upper section where people park and eat lunch. That used to be "off the trail" but it has had so much use it has essentially become part of the trail. The same thing is happening on Dickey Bell where the "Little Daniel Hill Climb" is.

It happens essentially anywhere you have a difficult area with multiple paths. People cut through parts that at one point were off the trail, and it gets so much use you can no longer tell for definite where the trail stops and forest land starts. It isn't as clear cut where the trail is one path, and its obvious people are going off trail. Another good example is the Double Rock Ledge before the Kodak Rock Garden on Rocky Mnt Loop. When the bypass was put in (the year of the race) it was pretty clear there was the bypass on the far left, and the double ledge on the right. And the space in-between was obviously off trail. But as time went on more and more people cut across etc and it is all (Besides where the trees are) part of the trail now. It wouldn't make much sense to put in a guard rail to split it up, since its all the same now (dirt wise etc).
