Uwharrie CB Channel Refrence List

Looks good on paper, but...

As already eluded to, most clubs/riders will start on their preferred channel...

and *quickly* move to a channel NOT full of amp hounds (skipping from 12 states away), trailer trash/crack ho chit-chat, the ever increasing banter from NON-English speaking persons, or a couple wheelers BSing back & forth (like they need a room). Larger gatherings @ URE will only compound the problem of finding a channel not already being utilized by one of the above...

Rattling through the channels *listening* for ride related chat & a short "anyone wheeling out there?" transmission is usually the best bet.

This is true, but it could still be a useful list to give someone a starting point at least. Especially if the club lists their alternate channel choices if they do happen to switch. Like the Planet Isuzoo group, we have our main channel and an alternate. Because usually people move progressively through the channels one at a time if they have to switch. So lets say someone checks the list and sees their group is on Channel 5. They head out and can't reach them on 5 so they move up to 6, etc etc. Without that starting point it could/would take a lot longer to find their group. Say the club's standard channel is 20. If someone started off at channel 4 and worked their way up they would have to go through 16 channels before they got anywhere close to getting in contact.

And I think having the list on the HotDog cart is a great idea. In case people don't see it on here, or forget to check before the leave.

AR15.com people use channel 15, go figure.

So do we have a list yet?
