So I am renewing my plate again tonight.. going through the special plates.. and I wonder why there is no Uwharrie or OHV trail system plate? It seems it would be a great way to promote support, and get funds to the system. Has this been discussed before, ever?

Pretty sure it is 300.. I know the Blue Ridge Parkway just did a motorcycle plate and they needed 300, took them over 6 months to get that many.

I did some digging through the DMV site but I didn't see anything- I'm sure an inquiry would need to be sent in. But I figured someone on here would know something..

I'd definitely be in if it was a OHV based plate. I don't get to Uwharrie as much as many, but do go to the beach and stuff. Without sounding like a jerk, there is more to NC wheeling than JUST URE.

Here is a crazy one for you. NC has two Air Force bases and no Air Force tag! They have 82nd Airborne, Army Reserve, Bronze Star, Coast Guard Reserve, Gold Star Lapel Button, Korean Conflict Veteran, Marine Corps Reserve, Naval Reserve, Retired Air Force, Reserve Air Force, Retired Navy, Vetrerans of Foreign Wars, Vietnam Veteran, World War II Veteran. All of those but no Active Duty Air Force plates. I am done venting now. I honestly would not get an AF plate if they offered one but it is the thought. A URE or OHV plate with proceeds going to the trail systems I would buy though.

maybe all the AF guys think like you, so the state if you want a plate, but won't buy one, here's what you get...:flipoff2:

LOL Very true but I am not a fan of advertising my vehicle as military related. Most A.F. bases are doing away with the base decals for security reasons. That is the main reason why I would not put one on my vehicles. Well that and I drive like an asshat so I dont need to give a bad image LOL.

Trout Unlimited recently got their minimum pre-order of 300"Save The Brookie" plates approved, printed and issued. Of course the revenue goes to NCTU to fund their war against OHV users.

It would be a great idea to get our own "Save The OHV Trails" plates. I believe it's only about $20 extra for each plate. If everyone could get one for their trail rig, tow rig, dd etc. then we could reach the minimum buy-in pretty quickly.
Clubs could work together to spread the word and encourage participation among their membership. And the revenue could be donated to SFWDA (earmarked for NC interests) or distributed among a coalition of participating (minimum number of plates purchased) 4 wheel drive clubs.

Are there any graphic artists out there that could work up a design?

like i said, im in.

Im already paying for a personalized plate on my rig but would gladly swap over to an OHV or URE plate.
