Uwharrie License Plates

All right, so who is going to find out WTF we've got to do to actually get these printed?

Email sent to NCDOC

Does anyone know if there is an online application or something?

hmm...seems we have to submit a bill to the NC legislature and have them vote on the plate.

that doesnt sound promising.

Okay...we need 300 people willing to fork over an extra $20-30 plus we need a legislator who supports our hobby. We are going to need to design a logo (the OHV Motorized Vehicles "JEEP" sounds good to me).

Submit all this in Bill form and wait for a vote.

I'd take one if it were an OHV tag not URE. Not that I have something against URE but people need to realize it's not just your backyard that needs help. I understand the majority of this board is composed of people from down east and that's "home" but if our sport is going to survive we need to start thinking about the bigger picture.

I'm not sure you can get a weighted one for a tow rig , but i'd definitely get one for the Jeep. ...I'm sure most of out club would be in also

any news on if they would do it? if so i would. i got 4 needing a tag.

i used my work email and havent been back to work. i'll keep this thread updated.

I inquired about vanity tags and you should be able to per what the DMV says that the weight goes to the registration not the tag. Example. I asked about getting the paid firefighters tag but questioned the dilema due to needing the weighted tag for towing. Was told I would get the FF tag but yet whatever weight rating I needed would show on my registration card if I ever got checked. The price would be the cost of my weight plus the price of the ff tag and if I wanted it custom ( personalized saying) it would cost however much extra they wanted for that. Needless to say I just stuck with the regular weighted tag

i heard back from the DOT.

They confirmed we needed legislation passed to get the plates. We need a legislator who is on good terms with the OHV community.

Any suggestions?
