Uwharrie Sept 11 day run. Anyone interested?

Shoot me a text if you decide to go. Still unsure if I'm going though.

Didn't go, ended up doing some repairs tonight, ran a short trail at a buddies to test for breakage, No breakage, ran 60+ the whole way home.

We are discussing going on the 18th... Its the workday, so if we are going to camp I figure will donate the morning to that, if we are just going to day trip I will probably just carry a trashbag to pick up trash as we go, usually do that anyway.

If we go I will let you know, would probably be 3-4 XJ's and a wrangler... Ill let you know.

Texasbyblood, I'm assuming that was you that went w/ us up daniel (I was in the blue fj40 w/ the landcruiser club)... What grenaded in the rearend the cj?

yea that was him in the blue cj. he broke the pinion shaft where the yolk bolts on. he took the driveshaft out and was going to head back and load up and call it a day.i was in the red yj on boggers that followed you up daniel. when the day was done i got back to the outpost and his truck was still there. i knew it was his cause he unloaded beside me and we got together and followed yall out. i was running really low on propane and was not sure if i could make out and back to look for him but i couldn't leave with out doing something so i crossed my fingers and headed back. sure enough found him at the parking area. he had ignition problems then the pinion binded up but some folks helped him out and he was just getting ready to leave.

looks like I missed a little excitement. but was beat down after moving my outbuilding so decided to hang around the house.maybe next time I will get to meet you guys out on the trails

My group came up on the landcruiser group right after he broke apparently. We had the short black F150 on 42's (me), the grand cherokee with the tube doors, and my dads 88 Bronco. The pinion sheared off even with the outer bearing on his cj. And he somehow broke the GM tilt column so the lock cylinder would turn but wouldnt actuate the electrical part of the switch. The tilt housing was all broken around the steering wheel lock pin like it caught and pried outward. I hotwired the ignition for him but when he tried to move the pinion fell into the axle and locked up. When we left him he was pulling the carrier out to get the pinion out so it would roll. He wasnt there when we left the trails at 6:30.
