uwharrie thanksgiving weekend

My plans have changed a little I won't be there till sat after noon
 
I'll be there, hopefully with Erik, assuming his Jeep is up for it.

It's a piece of crap hotel but it has beds and a shower, and if I remember correctly its about $40 a night. It's also the closest one I know of to the trails. There also the Days Inn in Biscoe, but thats more of a drive, and more expensive(I think.)

Sounds like there may be 4-5 of us here, going up Sat am for the day. (I could even be bringing three Jeeps! Family get-together, ya know! LOL)

Thanksgiving trip

Xjay, I'm new to the board and folks seem to be referring to you for the Uwharrie trip. I see that you have a group camp site. I noticed that there is a group camp A, B, and C. Which one do you have and can you post the directions? I know the area a bit but if you can shed some light on it great. I have only been to Uwharrie a couple of times and I usually pass the Outpost and make a left onto Mullinex Rd and head to Arrowhead campground. If you can post where the group camp is based on this that would help me out.

Also, I think there is a burn ban in effect for open fires but the campsites at Arrowhead fires are okay. Are fires allowed at the group camp? If so, I can bring some fire wood. I plan on coming up Friday afternoon and departing on Sunday, mid-morning if its okay.

anyone heading to uwharrie and passing through wilmington or leaving from wilmington with room on their trailer for another rig? :) i'm kinda scared to drive it since i used up my AAA last saurday when my wheel bearing took a shit on the drive home :(

I'll be heading down Sat. morning, with some of my family in town for Turkey day. Prob. be there about 9:30ish. I'll check cb ch. 6 and 7. I've never meet any of ya'll before but from the sounds of it I'll be one of the only Toyotas in the group. 84 4runner, bright red/white top.
 
I'm also needing to hitch a ride or possibly borrow/rent a trailer. I have a tow rig but just not a trailer. I have no problem giving someone a few bucks if they have a spare car trailer around that I could use from thursday evening till sunday evening. If not does anyone that is headed to Uwharrie on thursday night or friday morning would have room on their trailer for a 1990 XJ? I live in Kannapolis one mile off of I-85. Thanks
 
Is the burn ban still in effect for the group camp? I can't find anything listed on the internet.
 
We have a group of 5 of us coming to URE from Jville. We will leave Friday at 6am and are coming back Saturday. I may Stay until Sunday. I am parking my Excursion at the Eldorado and sleeping ont he trail somewhere. That is providing I get my Front DS in tomorrow and everything works alright. It will be the first time having 4wd since July. I have been playing in the mud in 2wd though.

Ol'Jeep, thanks for the map and to xjay about the info on fire wood. I'll put some on the trailer so we have fire on Friday and Saturday nights.

If you all plan on doing a Friday night run then please post here. When I arrive on Friday afternoon I will get my pass for Saturday and will buy one for Friday as well if you all are doing a Friday night run.

Well guys I am definitely headed that way, I'm going to be working on Eriks Jeep today attempting to be absolutely sure he's going to make it. If not I may be up there alone, which I really don't like. If any of you us see me up there give me a holler. My names Chad and I drive the silver TJ on 35s. Hopefully everything goes alright on Eriks Jeep, but just in case I'd like to have some people with me. I'm usually on Channel 4, but it looks like I may have to check channels 6 & 7 out as well. Thanks guys, and say hi if you see me
Edit:I will definitely be there Friday all day, if I don't have anyone to wheel with I'll be leaving Saturday morning. If I do have someone to wheel with I may not leave until Sunday. So I am really hoping to find someone/get Eriks Jeep together
 
Chad, there is 3 of us From Jacksonville going up early Friday. We will leave her at about 6am going across 24. I am trailering my Xj and one is driving and I think the 3rd is towing his as well. I am dropping my White Excursion and trailer off at the outpost and putting on my 38's. This is my first trip on the new axles and tires so I am pretty excited. For the rest of you I m sure I will see you all out on the trails. You will know us by our J-ville Jeepers stickers on the windshields.

got new inner and outer wheel bearings, wheel seal, spindle nuts, a warn hub under warranty, and a can of NOS to make me work really fast on my jeep!

looks like i'll either drive to uwharrie thursday night OR friday morning i'll pick a deck-over trailer up at united rentals and attempt to tow the jeep with the 1/2 ton suburban.... yikes.

either way, you all should see me their eatin rocks and shittin' pebbles!
