Valve springs didn't compress

I poured the new oil in on top of the lifters and, just for the heck of it, spun the crank by hand to watch the push rods. They pushed up the lifters like they were supposed to, but came back to rest in the non-lifted position for some of them. Once I get everything else back together I'm going to just pull the fuel pump fuse and bump it over some. I'm hoping to get it done by the end of this week, I only get a little time each day to work, but none today. I really appreciate all the help.
