Is it me or has anyone else noticed some really nice product being offered by some class acts but very poorly represented?

Not really trying to bash any one company but it amuses me.

Why engineer and make a great design then show case it with absolutely horrible welding?

Not a rant, not really a concern either.....but geeze folks.

I'll send you a reference in a PM. Don't want to publicize as I have no dog in the fight or need to! Just observing.

I alwasy assume that the product pic you show me is the absolute best case scenario for what you will deliver. If i find flaws with your demo photo, its probably not good.

Checks to see if I've posted any weld photos lately...but those are exactly the type of thing I address when consulting other businesses. Oh, you don't have the funds to pay a welder $20-50/hr full time...ok outsource the display piece, see what it does at the trade show, then probably subcontract that work out. 999 times out of 1000, I get one of two responses 'I'm self taught and don't know any better' or 'we can't afford it'. The other one time is 'meh, it's good enough'.

I guess that is why some of the stuff I observe is obscenely laughable at times. The other side of the coin somewhat on the same line of thinking as @UTfball68 why not hire a professional even if you have to out source the work?
Put your best face or foot forward.

Meh, that weld will hold fine for its intended purpose. Looked like the whipping of that mig was about 1/2" though..
:(:shaking: That's like saying Natural Light gets the job done! It's a demo video for advertisement and just screams at me that any tard could assemble this or any of the products they sell. The other notion is I don't think they offer many stuff in a u-weld kit. I may be wrong. But I would never purchase products at that price point and accept that build quality. Flat horrible. I guess I have a CWI heart.

well, naty light does get you buzzed if you drink enough. I do see your point.

Aww :nopics:

I take interest in this thread because the trailers we have here at work that he buys from a name brand company for the carport business the Welds on them look worse than I think most of my beginner stage LOL in all seriousness pretty sad though

.

And me and @Ron will be arriving in this..

It'll be empty when we leave

The welding that amazes me are the aluminum awnings with fabric over drive thru windows and such. They look absolutely horrible! I wouldn't let anyone see those welds in the scrap pile at the shop, much less in a finished product!

The welding I see on a LOT of things nowadays is just horrible! I don't know if it has always been this bad or if I just notice it more now but, it amazes me what shoddy workmanship you'll see sometimes on darn near any type of welded product- bumpers, awnings, railings, trailers, agricultural equipment, tables, shelves, whatever.
