Vendor adds and weld quality.

Now I' curious as to what this refers to.....

Here one I have noticed in my search for a new trailer.....this is not the sample I would have used if I was product advertisement

You guys understand production welding is not treated the same as building buggies, right?

I think that depends on the company....I have seem a lot of "production" welding on cranes, boom lifts, trailers, equipment, etc, that I would be proud to have on my buggy. Anyone who makes an excuse for a crappy production weld, IMO doesnt care about the quality of their product.

^^^This...looks and functions as it should are two totally different things. I’ll agree, if you’re a small business doing all one off stuff and doing all your own welding and it’s a staple of what you do...it better look damn good. Mass production...meh, there’s an engineer somewhere that determined how many cycles, what kind of abuse, etc is and trying to keep up with industry standards within their market all the while trying to operate with a finance guy telling him what the budget and acceptable cost is to hit the right margins. Shop at WalMart get WalMart quality and prices, shop at Mom & Pop get Mom & Pop quality and Prices, need a custom one off get custom one off quality and prices.

Absolutely. I think the point of this whole thread is that they are putting less than stellar welds as the "showpiece" for their product in the ad. Noone expects a MarsFab quality weld on their trailer at a Walmart price. But if your showpiece is a FullerWeld© then what do the hidden out of position welds look like?

When I bought my PJ trailer the welds on the Big Tex helped make my decision. PJ's don't have stacked dimes, nor do I expect them to be, but the big tex trailers I looked at looked like it was the guys first welding job.
