Virginia ends CCW reciprocity

Curious how long you could get by on "Woah, I didn't know" with a level headed conversation w/ the cop?
Given teh difference in general philosophy on gun ownership between VA and MD residents (and cops), it's hard to imagine there would be any specific targeting actually enforced any time soon.

It's supposed to be going into effect Feb 1, 2016 from what I read. (Could be wrong as I also read it takes effect immediately) if it's Feb 1, I'm sure that window is there so they can have a buffer from when it was announced in order to have a legitimate attempt to make gun owners and carriers aware of the new standard so that excuse is less valid. It all will depend on the cop and situation most likely.

The lady friend and I were talking about it tonight seeing as how she's a SW VA resident and former staff member on
a few Republican campaigns up there...of course she had an opinion on it. Her gripe was that of the one Zuke mentioned, now the VA state permits won't be recognized by others. My friends in the Waynesboro area voiced the same concern.

We should still be a able to open carry in va, right? Maybe we should do much more of that. I am thinking big conspicuous dirty Harry side arms to mess with the bleeding heart liberal fucks. Leave ur glock laying on the dash for all to see or resurrection of the back window gun racks seems in order. :flipoff:

Open carry will still be legal. Be aware that previous opinions from prior AG as to the legality of certain circumstances could however be overturned/withdrawn/legal mumbo jumbo. In a given year, I spend a few thousand in Virginia travelling. No more, until they fix this. I'll vote with my wallet, as best as I can.

Too bad for Virginia residents with a ccw...they will lose 25 states when it's all over. We've been looking at SW Viginia for a future move. Not now.
If your willin to got that far just come on to E Tenn.Everybody hollers and goes on about a gun confiscation by the gov but this is how they will get it done, they will regulate, limit, tax and prohibit until its not worth the trouble/expense to have a gun.
VA sucks. About time to look towards moving elsewhere. The people up in northern VA have all but ruined this state.
Just like NY,NYC calls the shots for the whole state whether they like it or not.Sw VA,to say Roanoake, are worlds different than the rest of the state.Good thing I can get to KY w/o goin thru VA.
