Visitors to Virginia can still obtain a non-resident permit if they meet a separate set of standards set forth in the law
I don't see why they wouldn't honor NC permit holders.
25 of those states had concealed handgun permit regulations that were weaker than Virginia’s
or just give 0 fucks. If its concealed then nobody is the wiser.
Not a matter of difficulty getting the permit, as much as your past
VA doesn't allow anyone with any DUI, abuse, or assault priors to have a CCW
That's all and good until you're targeted by the popo because of your tag and information (see Maryland trooper targeting out of state CCW holders)
If its concealed then nobody is the wiser.
I understand, but does nc not have the same requirements?
In a given year, I spend a few thousand in Virginia travelling. No more, until they fix this. I'll vote with my wallet, as best as I can
Yes, because the proper way to commit civil disobedience is by committing a felony which would result in your right to possess a firearm, instead of paying $100 on the internet for a permit.
I never said it was the right thing to do. And yes, the non-resident permits are very easy to obtain in VA all things considered.
$100 for the license and possibly another $60-100 for a VA recognized certification (should they turn down whatever one you got in NC) is a very easy process to stay legal. Just bureaucratic bs and more of a hassle than anything else.
