So I have astigmatism my contacts that I just got two years ago are right eye power -1.00 and left eye power -0.50! Just wondering if this can be corrected to 20/20 with glasses or lasik?? I don’t know how to make out this eye dr stuff lol I do have a lazy eye in my right eye but I can control it fully and see fine out of it with the contacts I have now but I “need” not want to have them corrected permanently for my future endeavors!! Any input is accepted unless it’s a joke about having 4 eyes... bc that’s lame in 2018 lol

These are my prescriptions right eye is top box left eye bottom!

I’m going for my free consultation in first week of January. Going through TLC. Consultation is free. Get you some!

Looking into it now... didn’t know if there was a way to decipher my prescription to see if it’s corrsctable lol

Mine were -4.75 with astigmatism. Had lasik a few years ago. Only regret is that I waited so long to do it.
And corrected back to 20/20?

This is what I need to know if my eyes can meet this requirement... Distant visual acuity of any degree that does not correct to 20/20 in both eyes with spectacle lenses or any refractive error in spherical equivalent of worse than plus or minus 8 diopters will not qualify! Wtf is a diopter? Lol

So you dont know if yours can be corrected to 20/20 yet till your consultation?

I go January 9th. If you still haven’t talked to anybody, I’ll let you know what they say.

Ok I may go see this coming up week. I’d think my eye dr may be able to tell me if it can be corrected I’m pretty sure it can be, I pray they can be anyway.

I've been tossing around the idea of lasik for a couple of years now. My optometrist highly recommended TLC in Charlotte but I haven't pulled the trigger to schedule the consultation yet. He personally went there & so did my best friend - both had astigmatism & terrible vision like me and corrected to 20/20 or better. So I would think you'd be good to go!

Mine may not get to 20/20 with lasik & I'm totally ok with that. I just want to be able to function if I lose a contact.

@BigSouth keep us posted on the consultation (oh and get that weak shit outta here!)

I’m sporting Coke bottles for glasses right now, but Dayum, you blind!

Had lasik 20 years ago now. Best money I ever spent! Quick, painless and immediate results. Have had use readers for a few years for the close up small print, but was warned of that up front. Can still see great otherwise.

I'm too much of a wimp to do lasik. The idea of lasering my eyeballs scares me to death.

I just ordered my first new batch of contacts since high school last week.
I havent opened a new box yet buy the ones I'm currently wearing "expired" in 2013 ha! I get several months out of a pair and only change them when they tear or get trash stuck to them. I feel like I have done well to not have had to buy contacts for over 10yrs!

The hereditary condition I have, is not subject to Lasik, but I do have correction by glasses. Also I have astigmatism, which is corrected. One year the Dr's assistant changed my Rx. Got my new glasses, & couldn't wear them, they were so messed up. Returned to the Dr., he Checked, & the assistant wrote the astigmatism correction, 180 degrees Off!. That's when I learned about How the light, enters the eye, & how it has to be aligned.

That’s gonnna kill your eyes. I did the same thing and every so often had to fight an infection, pink eye, or detoriated contact in my eye.

I’m squirmish with things in my eyes, but if you can bear through it for 45 seconds, you’ll hate that you waited so long.

Ive looked into it a little bit got so much going on it’s not computing in my brain how bad my eyes actually are or aren’t. Yeah I’d say 180 off would def make for some interesting views!

Ive read some study’s on leaving disposables in long term and it can seriously do some damage to your eye! I kept a pair in for 8 months, my eyes took 3 days to feel normal again after putting in new contacts. Had an acute infection in my right eye from it too.

Haha I feel you on losing a contact i can not find em if they come out on their own... not possible, I’ve got so pissed off trying to put these little suckers in and my hands are really rough so I have to be extremely gentle which never works out and I have ogre size hands so that’s even more fun with something that’s smaller than my finger nail. lol
