VW Emissions scandal

We bought ours new. Planning on keeping the warranty as long as possible. If i cant refuse the recall (when it happens) and still register the car, somebody is buying this bitch back. What im really pissed about is that this mess is going to affect value of the car. My wife drives it 3 miles to work and 3 miles home, groceries, going out to dinner etc etc.....this thing is going to be ultra low miles when we are ready to go trade it in.....for a tdi toureg probably.

They should also have to replace the dpf along with the retune/replacement of the ecu, as the excess emissions will have shortened the lifespan of it.

Without blatently saying what i want to, due to getting on the class action bandwagon, we bought the car bc of the tdi power(potential after warranty is up) and milage they get. I have 2 7.3 f250s,a 300+hp 75 gmc, a 1.6swapped sammi, 1984 diesel tractor etc etc etc.....nothing stock, and definitly nothing about that screams "eco". So dont think that was the reason....or wait, public forum....why hes i bought the car bc of its cleanliness to the environment and to offset my horrible carbon footprint i already have!

The performance as stated on the window sticker will not change... Class action suits will be interesting to see how they play out. VW advertised the performance based on the rolling dyno tests and the window stickers were notoriously understated. VW has let dealers know that the 16 models will be certified for sale mid october so the fix will be all programming. I also dont see trade values being any worse than they already are. VW has killed thier own resale values back in 2011-2013 with cheap leases and out of whack residual values. A 25k dollar jetta one year old with avg miles looses nearly 50% of its value on trade. It wont get much worse. I also dont see states spending much time making sure that people have done the rcall before renewing registrations. Average inspection station will plug in the obd connector and pass fail it based on what the computer says. You dont do the recall you dont have any change. VW is going to pay the fine and move on. once the epa has its money it can spend it to fix the problems created by ALL THAT EXTRA SMOG that the tdi motors have caused.

The best class action suit case would be that they were advertised as clean and super green and werent all that much better than other cars.
