Ok, i'm in the market for a new to me wagon. I know I might catch crap for it, but oh well. I have a Volvo now. I like the mileage and utility of having one. I know the ins and outs of Volvo's, but what about the others. I always liked the size of the Volvos as they are generally larger. One specifically I was interested in is a Magnum. I have not really been a Dodge fan other than the Cummins trucks. I like the thought of having a nice V8 in the Magnum R/T. Anyone have opinions. I'm looking in the 10K range.

Magnums were huge piles of junk and didn't last.

We're shopping for Flexes at the moment.

Why half step? Get a mini-van. You won't regret it.

My daily driver is a Toyota Sienna. I think they are the most practical vehicle if you have kids. The Sienna and Odyssey both have great reviews, but the Sienna seemed a little better.

I was totally against a minivan until I rode in one with kids, we went and bought one soon after. Now with two kiddos, it is the most practical thing I have ever owned

I like that the back windows roll down on the Sienna. Thanks

We have an odyssey, and the second row windows roll down, which is nice to be able to control from the dirver's seat.

If you want a good cheap truck like mini van find a chevy astro with the 4.3 they have a strong drivetrain and can fit a 4x8 sheet of material with the seats removed

Don't overlook the kia Sedona. Second gen has roll down sliding door windows. And they are cheap used.

A friend of mine has a Magnum. Its badass! With a cam and headwork, etc. Frickin thing runs something like 11's with baby seats in the back!! Actually, I think he is on here, but I cant remeber his username.

Get a tahoe.
lol
but seriously

Wagons are pretty sweet. I've always loved them. The old 740 volvos are some of the best. The Audi a ants are awesome too but pretty uncommon and pricey.

Mini Vans! V-6, if you want power, over mileage. I love the way they drive/handle, ride, visibility, & My # 1, = You just step in & out, of the front seats, no struggling to get up/down/in/out!

Ron, we have an Expedition already. Something in the low to mid 20's for MPG is important. We travel to the coast and mountains a lot and we don't take the Exp. unless I need to put my Father-in laws boat in the water, which is not that often.

I really like my Wagon, but i want something newer and nicer. I question the reliability of the mid 2000's Volvos. I am really leaning towards a mini van. I will just have to wait it out until the deal I want shows up.

100+HP
awd
30mpg
WAGON.

I am more fond of Volvos I have one for my wife to dd and I have a suburban dd. I do not like the magnums because they are cheap and get poor fuel mileage. Most of the Japanese makes the interior is very cheap. But if you do not want another Volvo then look at Mercedes and BMW. But my vote is stay with Volvo you will be happier

We've had 3 tahoes and an expedition...now the wife just has a 4 door car.
22-23 on a 5.3 with the 3.08 rearend is not impossible..

Not trying to sway you. Just providing info. The initial tahoe post was tongue in cheek.

11 is equally likely.

With the "towing package" sure.

From 01-04 GM dialed the 5.3 in very nice. The AFM crap actually hurt MPG

My sister, the penultimate soccer Mom, had a Vovlo, 3 kids , 1 husband , and no room.
We bit the bullet when kid #2 came along 18 years ( Lord, that's a long time ) ago.
Mini-van. The absolute most immasculating vehicle ever built, gayer than a Honda Pilot (well, maybe).
But the best thing in the world to transport 4 or more people any farther than church.

We camped in ours, hauled all of my street festival vendor stuff, etc, etc, etc ..... the amount of room in un-real.

Just don't try to cruise around the mall looking cool in it.

Won't happen.
