I'd give my left nut if I could steal my wifes purse long enough to get them to cut it off!

Wow! Man I would grow my mullet back and cruise main st

That's cool and all - but I wonder how many things would have to be replaced after sitting unused for so long? Dryrot?

i had a chance to get a smokey and the bandit edition one as my 1st car. you can guest that did not go well.

That thing still gives me that warm tingling feeling when I "stare" at it. I was 17 at the time it came out, awesome car and knowing I could not afford it just made it worse. But looking on the bright side I've still got a lot of good memories from that old beat up Pinto!

I had a beat 79 that was black and gold (Smokey and the Bandit). Damn thing was sweet and I regret selling it to this day.

This car is to be sold at auction July 2 and it's just 8 miles from me. It has been in a climate controlled building its whole life. About 25 years ago the owner turned down 30 grand cash for it. I'll be at the auction because I want to see what it brings. I have an unbelievable figure in mind and want to see how close I come.

Jealous! Take pictures, if you can, and let us know how it goes!

Yes please

Pretty much every seal, gasket, and barrier for fluids (I would guess)

But I'm like Blaze, I couldn't drive it :shaking:

I had a buddy in HS with a RED one...had pictures of it somewhere....it was NICE!

He wrapped it around a tree our senior year. Kept it though, and put it back together, but never to it's former glory. It sits now in his basement neglected

I drove past Kitterman's earlier this morning and thought I would stop and take some pics of the window stickers to show you guys but didn't feel like fighting through the crowd of gawkers. The auction isn't until Saturday yet on Monday literally droves of folks are wanting to look at both the car and dig through all the new old stock of parts. I'm willing to bet everything, including and especially the car, sells higher than a cat's back.

P.S. Anyone care to give a guess what the car will sell for? There is practically every available option on this thing you could get. I saw a similar car, although it was a black 4 speed car with 16,000 miles, sell in Arizona a while back and I'll bet this one brings at least the same, if not more.

What was the original sticker price? I know cars are supposed to depreciate as soon as they drive off the dealer lot... but considering this one never left, it's gotta go for at least sticker price....

My guess is.... $84k.

$48500 but I can see it going for shawn is saying.

Shawn, I'm sorry I don't remember what the original sticker price is but I will say this. Of the guesses so far no body is even close. I personally know folks that are willing to go well beyond 6 figures that will be represented at the auction and who knows about phone and internet sales. It's going to be a fun auction to attend fur sure. Shoot, if it could be bought for the prices you guys have mentioned, I'd buy it myself and haul it to Miami or Scottsdale for resale. This car is beyond rare.:smokin:

Yeah, I have no idea what the Trans Am market looks like... I started to put down $135k as my guess, then deleted it because that sounded ridiculous.

I was trying to find out what Burt Reynolds' personal car sold for, but couldn't find a price on it.
