Fellow members of NC4x4 and the off road community,
With a very heavy heart I need to announce the passing away of our very own @Jus Jim.
Jim has been a terrific ambassador for the off road community and a very active member in multiple groups and clubs. More so, very dear friend I will always cherish my time with.
The details aren't out yet, but we can all hope for a peaceful transition to Glory.
Jim had a personal relationship with Christ and wasn't ashamed to let it be known.

I'll update this thread accordingly as we receive details and arrangements for his ceremony.

Here's to ya Jim. Gonna miss ya my friend.

Always hits home when this happens to someone you’ve cut trails beside and rode with. RIP friend.

Wow! I met Jim years ago at a 4WD 101 course taught by Scott Fields. I didn’t get the chance to know him well, but in that one day course he was the type of guy to make you feel like you had been friends for years & years. RIP Jim.

Same here, @tlucier and I met Jim in that same class. He was just getting into this game and had a newish F150. Wheeled one time after that with his big truck making 10 pt turns on the switchbacks and he was hell bent to dump that and get a jeep. I'll miss his humor on here most. RIP Jim

Wow this is shocking and hits hard. I meet Jim recently in CTB. Was a super nice guy. RIP Jim.

This sux. I am at a loss for words, Jim was a great man and a better friend. Most would be lucky to cross paths with him, he would do anything to help someone out. Never forgotten and we will wheel again Jim. RIP

Indeed it was.

I know his soul was prepared, but damnit I WASN'T

this just isn't fair.

I'm so confused. So ANGRY.

I was looking forward to Jim camping at Potts with us.

This is too much

Man this is unbelievable! He was supposed to meet us up at Potts this past weekend for a CTB ride. We missed him and had no idea anything happened but a few of us tried to call and text him with no answer. As said already he was a great person and a wonderful steward for the Offroad community! You will be missed my friend!

I've lost count of how many times I've read this thread, hoping there was some mistake. This one really hurts my heart. Jim was a great guy & will definitely be missed. He got stuck with me last year at a ride since he had an open seat (and air conditioning). Even after I talked his ear off, he was always willing to offer me a seat. Rest in peace :(
