Welder power source!

Boom--easy. Two mini tandems with a piece of bailing wire tying the two inside poles together...

Would I do it? Probably
Should you do it? Prob not.

Sounds about like what I’d have rigged up, that’s why I’m gonna get a professional lol

So if I’m reading correct watt/volt measurements to amperage which I have no clue what it all means technically if I have a 7000 watt generator I can run my welder off of it on 120 without a problem correct?? Generator has breakers so they’ll trip If to much but really wanna get welder over to my rig so I can get some tube ordered and waste $$ practicing mig in hrew!

Hard to tell from cell phone but looks like at 240v your max amperage mig is 25a. Your genset probably puts out 240v so 7000/240=29.2 amps. Should be fine. Assuming you run it on 240v which you should.

This. But...Cheap gas generator, welder isnt going to like it long term.

Awesome! so to find amp you just divide Watts to volts??

Def not long term I have a electric pole in the lot my rigs I’m gonna have to pay aep to come out in a meter than I’m assuming I can just do a outdoor breaker box/sub panel!? with 240/110 that will only be used for working on toys!

Ohh wasn’t aware of that! Luckily my neighbor is cert electrician that Can probably get this going! Now I gotta get power 200yards away to where the project is gonna be built lol
Seems like you'd be talking to your Certified Neighbor, First! Wish I had a neighbor, or close by Electrician! BTW, ask him if you can Safely switch the 2 - 15 amps, for 2 - 20s. Least keep your Saw running!

Don't be peddling your expensive ass bullshit gennys here big dog, we all know better.
I dont care what brand it is, there isn't a gas gen on the market I'd want to run a welder on. I'd want a full wave rectified avr for the inverter board to stand a chance

Honestly I trust most folks advice on here over people I actually know or attempt to not associate with! And this advice is free... lol

3 year warranty on welder and gen so hey I’ll give it hell like I do everything else till it breaks! But I am planning on putting power over there since I won’t need a new pole just a meter and panel, just not a priority at this given time unfortunately!

So had to make a plug for a twist lock male to female 3 prong to hook to generator, managed to wire it correctly as well! Electricity isn’t as bad as I’ve thought now I’ve dedicated some vast research and more important an experts patients and advice seeing it first hand! The welder ran flawlessly today at work had a idiot hit our trailer and broke the tongue plate so borrowed VT’s fine operation crews oxy torch and cut old one off and put a new one on! I’m impressed with this little welder To say the least and I’ve only used stick mostly! How long it lasts is the question!

Define "electric pole"... If it's just a pole with high voltage strung to other poles? Or does it also have a transformer & meter base... because that shats gold plated and priced accordingly by AEP

Yeah has transformer pole but no meter there use to be a trailer up where my rig is but was tore down has well pump on lot also! I hope it’s not to pricey I plan to eventually have a garage up here on same lot when I get rich lol

This is what I’m working with!
