what causes a keeper to fail?
Not properly seated when assembled or maybe a broken spring gave enuf slack for the keepers fall off.Hard to tell from TN.:lol:Im sure some of the guys rigs are just days old and havent been tested very much, not sayin this is the case here, but Im sure theyre turnin it on more now that they have prior to the event.Bad part is Im sure it has ruined the head and probably the block too.

JB weld will fix that.......

yup - brand fresh build, minimal tuning and running beforehand...
Lets just say the club discussion is not favoring the builder right now lol

Honestly not sure, some big V8 :D

But from what I can gather from spare MDCreepers and Facebook posts, they spent the day working with a local shop (CBM) and returned w/ a rebuilt shortblock, replacing that badboy and hopefully back in for the race!
Gotts love the ass-busting that occurs w/ this event

I would imagine some type of LS engine thats what most are running these days.

yeah no shit man.
I'm just thankful Dan and Happy are OK, that could have been waaay worse for them.
The whole week was just complete shit luck constantly.

The one good thing about this incident is that it has really shown how tight and giving this community can be, seeing how fast people jumped to help out.

WTF.

So.... how'd they end up on their lid? Looks like they ran off onto the shoulder. Asleep at the wheel? Swerved to avoid something...?

Really sucks either way, but pretty amazing how everybody chipped in to get shit done.

So from what I've gotten from Happy is that the load wasn't quite right and was a bit squirly. They passed a truck and got pulled by the vacuum, had a bad response and it started going sideways, i'm not totally clear what started it, he overcorrected a bit and swirved off into the ditch in the L lane. However it was right before a big embankment for an emergency U-turn and he had to point the truck away to keep from hitting it, this caused it to flip.
All 3 guys seem OK, just sore. Truck and trailer obviously totalled, Jeep is OK, stuff everywhere... Happy and Nate on the way home now via other means, Dan is w/ the race jeep/gear until Eugene and Brennan get there.
yeah a great case of the community in action, within 15 mins of them being towed off another local guy from PBB that owns a wrecker service pulled up w/ trailers to bail 'em out and store the stuff until they could be recovered. He took them to the airport etc.

Happy was also one of the primary witnesses for the awful 3-fatality DUI crash just outside Johnson Valley last Sat night.... like it happened 10' from them, they were the first responders... that was when they were on their way BACK to AZ to recover their trailer & rigs from Johns broken tow pig in Phoenix.... rough week for the Creepers indeed.

Yeah, tongue weight is a bitch. If it was a little light on the nose, I can see it getting out of shape in a hurry. Saw the thing about the crash last week. Talk about shitty...
