Well that truck won't be speeding past anymore.

For the last couple of years a white and gold Ford truck has been flying past my house at nearly 100 mph. One day I was working on the neighbors well and heard him coming and stopped him. I told him I would throw a brick through his windshield if he did it again. He has been flying up the road and slamming on his brakes at my property line and going 45 to the other side then speeding on.

A few weeks ago I was going across the second bridge on our road, and fortunately I had slowed way down for the curve. The Ford came around the curve on my side of the road - over my white stripe- and barely missed hitting us head on.

We have not been able to get his tag number or figure out where he lives.

Well today I was looking on Facebook and found a truck for sale that was wrecked. It looked familiar. So I did a little research and it turns out he lived exactly where we thought he did. I checked the Gaston county GIS and found the same house that is in the pictures.

I hope it hurt him.

Justice. On my street I still have a few speeders. My leg of the neighborhood was built back in the mid 50s and still have a few of the original residents, my dad being one of them. At the end of my street along about mid 90s there were apartments built and within the last few years have went section 8. Those lowlife scumbags go flying up and down my street doing atleast 60 with no regard for anyone or anything. :shaking:
Usually I'll just go down to the apartments and scope out which car it was that was speeding, and have a nice little chat with the driver about it. When multiple elderly people that I consider to be like grandparents are afraid to go check their own mail, that's when I draw the line. Most of the time it goes well, until the day I ran into a very drunk asshat that decided to get mouthy and hint around at pulling a firearm on me and "calling his boys".
Ok, Mr dickhead sir. I show up here unarmed and carrying a respectable stature. You wanna get stupid? Ok.... Breaking a hand on someone's skull is painful, but atleast the sumbitch decided to start taking an alternate route. My next step is writing into the city about speed bumps. I'm getting to old for this hood rat nonsense.

Ha! I had that same boxers break on my rt hand 3x in one yr, never had a black eye or a busted lip during that time though;) Now I only have 3 knuckles on that hand.

I have a couple crotch rockets hitting triple digits past my house weekly, it's a 35mph zone. Karma is going to hurt or be deadly.

Why not give it a try to slow them down? Haha!

It sucks when your muscle strength exceeds what the bone structure can hold up to. I did put a hell of a coil on that one though. I was in a hellfire hurry so I know my landing was flawed. All I cared about at the time was neutralizing the situation before the said gun got drawn. (There were kids around also). I had to place myself between him and the open car door which he was heading towards. The last thing he remembers is shoving me out the way.
And yeah, my knuckle just sort of...vanished. I'm sure it's shattered and scattered in there somewhere. I keep telling myself I need to go get it x-rayed.

I would post and tell everybody it ran well cause he was the asshole that drove like a maniac thru the neighborhood.

Hate all you want, but that's hilarious!

I'd be videoing & playing it for my city or county officials! Let Them demand Police action. I live on a main cut-thru street, that has 20MPH signs every 500 - 1000 feet. Also a School on each side of the street. I Know some of the people think the 20, is the School Zone limit when the lights are flashing, but the rest just don't give a damn. Even the School Buses Speed! I've talked to the PoPo, Many times! About very 4-5 years I convince them to set out the Big Radar Sign. Their suppose to do speed enforcement a few days after the Radar sign has been up, BUT, it's Never happened. I Sargent told me the street is listed by the State, as 35MPH, but somehow the City workers posted 20 MPH signs. AS IF someone would fight it in court! Who gives a Damn? And what about the one's doing 45-55, in Whichever zone He considers it to be? Leave it up to the Police, & they ignore it!

Had a kid in our old neighborhood that had a POS V6 mustang. Lifting weights one evening in the garage and he decides to go tearing down the street at 50-60. Multiple families with small children that regularly play outside are outside enjoying the weather. He leaves his house about 5 mins later, same speed etc. I haul ass down the driveway and stop just short of the road. I can't say for certain what I said but apparently it got the point across. The next day I had a handwritten apology note from the kid saying he had broken up with his gf and he was wrong etc and he would never speed again.

We lived there for three years and he never did it again.

Had a punk kid in my neighborhood with a Chevy 1500 constantly running 45-50 in a 25 zone. Neighbor that has 2 small kids stopped him and talked to him one day while I was working in the garage and I'd heard others had asked him to slow down too. Punk had some choice words so I stepped outside to observe better & make sure it didn't get out of hand. I'm pretty intimidating at 6'6" & 280lbs so the kid jumped in his truck, flipped the bird & peeled off. He drove by around the same time every night and would gun it in front of our houses. Hid in the shadows by my garage one night with a torch ready, lit the acetylene off to get a nice fireball right as he passed my driveway...haven't had a problem out of him since. Not my proudest moment, but it got the job done!

We had a truck from the next neighborhood over that would shortcut through our street really quickly for a 25MPH zone, daily at almost exactly the same time on the way to work.
Anyway, one of my neighbors complained a few times to someone at the local PD, and one morning there was a marked car parked at the end of the straightaway and somewhat obscured by the entrance shrubs (it's a small older neighborhood, connected to a huge new neighborhood of shitty tract homes).

10 minutes later there was blue lights, job done. The officer had that truck stopped on the side of the road for a looooong time. Then officer left. Haven't seen that truck since. He must take a different route home. I do wish the officer would come back every once in a while though, because there's a lot of people that use our road for walking, biking, etc.

He's definitely not the only person that does that, as it's apparently okay to do that because if you don't live in my neighborhood then you don't care about my neighborhood. We did have a guy almost roll into my neighbor's yard after driving around my wife as she was pulling into our driveway, but that's a different story. He sunk axle deep on the right side and I thought he was going to roll it, but he somehow gathered it up before the trees and got back onto the road.

I wish they didn't connect our road with that neighborhood 5 years ago. I hate to stereotype people, but I don't think the people in that type of neighborhood give a flying fuck about anyone but themselves, else they wouldn't excessively speed on our street and slow down on theirs. We laugh because we'll take a hour walk on the weekend through the adjacent tract home neighborhoods, and won't see a single person outside during that entire hour-long walk. My neighbors are working on their flower beds or playing outside with their kids, etc. It's only 10 or 11 total houses in ours, so with 8 or 10 people outside on our street, you'd expect easily 300-500 people outside during our walk in the other neighborhoods, not zero people outside. Vampire suburbs.

.....bet it did hurt him and his neck is an inch longer.

We used a beach ball and a skate board with a doll on it to stop a speeder. Rolled the beach ball out then rolled the "kid" out. Dummy put his car in the ditch to avoid hitting the "kid".
This is brilliant. I saw a good deal on Craigslist for some old beat up clothing store mannequins a while back. Oh how the wheels are turning.

Dummy? You were intentionally trying to portray it as a child chasing a ball. What did you expect?

My folks are on the main road of a residential neighborhood...has a nice half mile straight. Cops were called several times by neighbors, local government was contacted, even had cops out clocking people, never seemed to be able to catch anyone. People were primarily asking for speed bumps, even with petitions, couldn't seem to get them. Eventually someone in a position of authority haphazardly mentioned that if someone was doing some home improvement project and concrete managed to find it's way in to the road, that could potentially solve the problem. Or, if some how the road way was damaged, being city/state maintained, it would have to be fixed, and the speed bumps could probably be added at that time. Coincidentally, those things magically happened, and there were no more speeders within the matter of days. Took a few months for repairs to the road to take place...but 15 years later, and the neighborhood has rarely had an encounter with a speeder over that time. Never could link who was doing home improvement or what damaged the road though.

Do you by chance happen to have a stick or two of dynamite left over?

my grandpa used to tell the story of speeders going up and down their dirt road a little too fast. Dad and my uncle were little boys, he didnt like that, so he would get out there and dig speed bump trenches. I guess the city would come out and fill it back, then he'd redig. Eventually they invented asphalt and paved the road, the boys grew up and everyone lived happily ever after.

I just had a issue like this it's a guy in a Mercedes jeep style SUV he rolls 75+ on my road daily especially in mornings when kids getting on the bus! Well he rose my ass the other day and I knew he had to follow me to get home so I got to my drive and blocked the whole damn road with the burb while opening my door to confront him, the little bastard went over into a ditch almost hit a fence and a small tree and went around me wtf? So I called police asked them what would happen if I stop him and punch him in the face since they can't do shit to him and I was told it would be simple assault as long as I don't hospitalize him and only use hand and feet! He hasn't passed by for a week now he goes long way around I'm gonna catch him at a gas station close by eventually and we'll see how that goes! Hope dude in the Ford got fawked up tho he would have eventually killed someone!

I used to put traffic cones in the road just below the crest of the hill, people flying over it would swerve and slow down. People going the speed limit had plenty of time to just manuever around it. Good times. Definitely wish I could have done more.
