What’s going on with my Detroit?

Had a Detroit in a 8.8 under a 97zj limited. Axle shaft took it out and swapped in another. This exact scenario happened. It was a tiny pice of trash that got into the new Detroit and FUBAR’d it. Went ARB after that and never looked back.

Just keep a little extra air in the rears and they'll slide a little better. I a;ways had less chirping on the road with a spool than I did regular lockers.
I had a blast with the spool in the Bronco...except when I punched it turning in the rain. The guy who was behind me was suddenly un front of me, we both looked surprised.

Not exactly a direct comparison, but prettttty close.

My CUCV has a Detroit and my old Silverado has a Yukon Grizzly. Both 5 speeds, both RCLB configuration, both have plenty of torque, and 37/40" tires (respectively).

The Yukon Grizzly was much more tame as far as locking and unlocking, popping, or making noise. The Detroit...sometimes I can hear it over a 12V Cummins and occasionally it feels like somebody t-boned the rear axle. All part of the vibe of the truck 🤣

What does no cap mean? Like when your not wearing a hat?

lol i think it means something like "not lying"
It blows my mind. i keep hearing other shit like
Bet instead of sure/ok/yeah
Cringe or Cheugy instead of Weird
Slaps instead of Awesome (this shit slaps)
Rizz of instead of having game

And a laundry list of others i have zero clue on

There is only one DEETroyt. Top left. They also manufacture the Truetrac, ELocker, NoSPIN, and Posi, but them ain't a DEETroyt.

The NoSpin is simply the Detroit without the case because the design is such that it slips in the OEM two piece carrier. The GM 14 bolt, my original Nissan H233B axle from my Frontier, and others are this way. Saves coin over buying the entire case again and the internals are the same.

I have had two Detroits without issues but they were not really beat on because it is a Nissan VG33 pushing them. Not enough Hp to break them I guess; plenty of torque with 4:1 transmission and 4:1 t-case but never broke an axle shaft to violently unload one.
