So I was shopping Amazon yesterday and decided to see why there were 66 items in my cart. Turns out, kids...

but, that didn’t stop me from browsing the cart to see what ridiculous items had been placed in there for whatever reason. Mostly it was just random normal items... until there weren’t.

So, let’s play a game. Post up some of the random junk in your cart. Let’s all see the odd things we considered purchasing at some point.

I’ll go first.

I mean, really. Why do we have a leash and harness for walking a bearded dragon? Who thinks of these things?

Mine's empty 🤷‍♂️. I never keep stuff in the cart, hell I never even put stuff in the cart when I'm shopping. I usually I just hit "buy it now" and end up with half a dozen different small orders instead of one big one lol.

It doesn't work for Amazon but my wife will throw stuff in her cart on other sites and let it ride for a week. Sometimes she gets an email with, "free shipping if you order now" or "we'll give you 15% off your order....".

Always what I do with Advance Auto.

I put stuff in my cart just to watch the price fluctuate and get it for the lowest I can. I collect Christmas gifts all year. See, also, Subscribe & Save and Amazon warehouse.

If only I had the time or patience to play that game with stocks.

You should use camelcamelcamel.com

It tracks the prices of everything on Amazoo.
Send you an email notice when "that thing" to wanted drops below a target price.

But back to the point - I don't understand.
Y'all share Amazon shopping carts? Account? Why?

We have a single Prime membership for the family but different accounts for everybody

We use the same account for everything we buy. Buggy stuff, toys, etc. the kiddos have made their own account for wish list items but not tied to any payment options. We never felt the need to have separate Amazon accounts. Why would we?

I need to do this. I have learned to keep any amazon gift cards I receive, til the moment i use them. In the past I have made the mistake of loading them on Amazon, apparently so the wife could wipe out my balance while i researched a particular device. Also see, getting 20 questions when another bbq/offroad/car gadget shows up, all while the porch is littered with boxes full of more pajamas or sweatshirts or other monogrammed BS that "was on-sale".

I've used that for bigger ticket items but it seemed like a pain to add something there when I can 'save it for later' and just check the changes in my cart however often. Especially when I'm in the app almost daily looking up some thing to reorder or research. Plus there's a lot of books for the kids that I'm buying third party bc out of print.

For exactly the reason you started this thread?

Wife and I have an understanding, there is nothing to hide, but I don't want her lists getting all mixed up with mine, or there "suggested items" bein gall crazy stuff I have no interest in.

Plus it still leaves "some" level of secrecy when it comes to Christmas, birthdays etc.

Eh

It seems our prime membership exists purely for keeping our 20+ year old vehicles on the road. Nothing stays in the cart for longer than it takes to figure out if Napa or Rock Auto can get it here cheaper or faster.
I should figure out the dual accounts thing, Christmas was tough this year, with both of us using the same account.
