What axles and size tires yall running

1948 willys, d60 spooled, d70 welded. 39.50 pitt bull rockers full hydro.

Rich, I can't speak for everyone but I chose rocks because they were cheaper than one tons, plus they have 6.72 gearing and they are very universal as far as making wider, narrower, driver side or passenger side drop. The aftermarket is huge. That is why I chose them.

He's pullin your chain Thumper, Rich is running Rocks too.

I am still in the one ton class, D60 front, 4:56 Chromoly 35 spline outers and a detroit, 14B rear, 4:56 and also a detroit and disc brakes.

I wouldnt say that aftermarket is huge... the aftermarket for rockwells are really fairly small, compared to that of dana and toyota axles.... they do have alot of advantages with them, but also some things to work around...

Yeah sorry about that Rich didn't know that. But yeah for what rockwells are you can't beat them. Thanks for all the input and information.

^^ are you really gonna blow the money on the tracks??

I had built FJ40 axles and 39.5" Iroks, and it worked great. The front axle had 30 spline Longs, chromo hub gears, ARP knuckle and hub studs, LockRight, etc. The rear was a hybrid centered FJ40 diff with mini truck shafts. The stock mini truck axle shafts held up fine with 39.5s. I broke a couple of course spline pinions, so upgraded to fine spline, and it did fine.

Then I went up to 42" Iroks. The front axle still held up fine. I broke a rear axle shaft and a center pin (on 2 different occasions) with the 42s. Then I upgraded to Poly Performance rear shafts. I was always leary of the rear pinion when I used the skinny pedal with that set-up.

Now I've swapped in a Dana 60 and 14-bolt. The Dana will have Yukon 35 spline shafts, 300M u-joints, drive flanges, LockRight, etc. The 14-bolt is stock with a Detroit.

Rich has been on the rocks awhile Thumper, running 2 steering axles.

Alot of trail rigs on here with rockwells.

Ricky - "If i had the $$ i'da gone to 5 tons and 66's a while ago ", I got 3 5 ton rears and I know Eric has some 5 ton fronts, all for sale.

My future rig will be those planateries in the garage, the airport crash truck transfer case and the Chevy boat anchor 396 I got in the shed.
