what gun do you carry CCW

how do you like your Kahr handguns? i have heard a lot about them but have never owned one

The Kahrs are fine pistols. I was a devoted Glock fan before I purchased my first Kahr. Now I am a devoted Kahr and Glcok fan. The triggers are different than a Glock. They are more like a good double action pull on a nice old Smith & Wesson wheelgun. All in all they are top shelf weapons.

I know what your talking about with your hand loads but you may want to talk to some of the people in the NRA or people that teach the CCW classes, always use a stock gun and factory ammo, if you ever need to use it your ass will be on the line in more ways then one, and the last thing you need in court it them holding your gun and ammo up and then say you were not happy with a normal gun or normal ammo you needed to build something like this that is a real killer and ammo loaded backwards that rips people up.......
BTW ever used that ammo on glass or a car door, I bet not or you would not be using it today. Give it a try in a car comming at you or a side shot. They know that as a dumb dumb it works good for in a house and on small critters. They loaded it that way to get the bullet to flatten out fast and stop in its tracks, good to put a deer down that is still kicking. Load it at 700 fps it will stop in sheet rock and light wood. I know you say it hits like a hammer but it has the (148gr) mass but only (800fps)Vel to get its energy. You would be better with a
(110gr) mass and (1134fps) Vel for energy up. The NCHP when using wheel guns went to a 110 gr 357 just to get what they wanted for glass head on and car doors. As I sit in my loading room I look at the dies I'm loading 50+ different cartridges but still carry factory.
Please think about it and look into factory ammo for carry.

I agree. There are plenty of cases out there were this has happened. Use factory ammo or they are going to convince a jury (civil if not criminal) that you loaded them for the specific purpose of killing a man.
I wouldn't even shoot anything out of a factory box that says "Man Stopper" or "Safety Slug" or "Personal Protection" or anything else like that. Here's a good link for factory snubby loads. Even shows what factory ammo worked better than your home brew.http://www.handgunsmag.com/ammunition/pocket_dynomite/

assuming my permit that gets submitted next Thursday gets approved...

G27 or G22, depending on what I'm wearing...

if it doesn't, it'll just be open carry...:)

both equipped with Crimson Trace laser grips...

9+1 in the G27 or 15+1 in the G22...either way, two 15 rd G22 mags as spares...

or it might put a hole in the wall the size of a cheeseburger if you miss:flipoff2: then all you got is a hammer with a scope on it!
as an old friend of mine that is a BLET instructor once said:
"if there is lead in the air there is hope in the heart" defend yourself

I have killed a few deer with it, dont think I will be missing anytime soon:flipoff2:

my buddy thought it would be cool to shoot it one handed, it almost flipped his arm overtop his head

I have a question for those in the know: Is it illegal to have a loaded firearm out in the open in a vehicle. And by out in the open, I mean on the dash or seat. I had an RPD officer give me a hard time about my G22 on the front seat loaded. I was in a minor fender bender, and when the officer arrived on the scene I was outside the vehicle and immediately made him aware of it and that the vehicle was locked. He immediately made me lock it in the trunk and told me if he had been NCHP that I would have probably lost it. I told him as far as I understood that: open carry is legal, the fire arm was out in the open but in a holster and that I made him aware of it ASAP. I described the "details" to another RPD officer in a hypothetical situation and he said the same.
he explained that there had to be three steps/hurdles for me to have to go through before i twas ready to shoot to make it legal. Their major problem with it was that it was loaded. I thought, wtf? From my research, I am/was in the right and intent is the determining factor. The CCW makes it a non issue, but was curious if anyone could prove me right or wrong.

Nothing in the law book as to wether the gun is loaded or unloaded. It says to notify officer immediatley. Try here at this link it is every general statute in NC. http://www.ncga.state.nc.us/gascripts/Statutes/StatutesTOC.pl
They'll still give you shit with CCW, best thing is to ask them what three steps they use to make theirs legal to carry.

Carry it any way you want as long as it can be seen. (OPEN CARRY) I have been dealing with it for 20 years and work around them in a gun shop. You would not believe the junk some cops that do not know the laws, what they come up with, just tell them to call it in and ask for help to clear it up.
Was told with my CCW had to be on me one time not in my bag.... so I said what about my wife she can carry in a hand bag correct, yes thats fine but guys must carry it on them...... BS..... IT must just be in your control.

If someone is looking for a good CCW...check out the new Smith and Wesson Sigma series...they are doing a rebate right now where its $30 cash back or 2 extra clips. Looked at one today for only $329.
post a link

If you are looking at a SIGMA, and I have 2 and love them.
Bud's gun shop DOT com has it right now for 269, then you get a $30 rebate or 2nd clip.

Friend bought one at Gander Mtn for 199 2 weeks ago.

They are great guns, but shoot one first. Some people cant get past the trigger, but it can be modified and will feel like a G
