What have you done to your rig today?

I used mine to winch a tree out of the road for the school bus. Then the fire department arrived and I ended up taking out the tool bag to help em with their saws.

In the race for the finish with Jody!

If they use the same bottom plate, what's the difference in the kits?
You can buy them with new diff covers already cut and welded. Those are cut to different heights depending on which one you want. If you already have a nice aftermarket cover, you just buy the bottom plate.

Food for thought- I used the Barnes 14 bolt cover on mine. It requires a shave of about 1.25" but no cutting into the housing cavity or welding to it. I had a time welding my axle tubes to the center section. I didn't want to mess with cutting into it.

As an aside, what did you do to run turn signals to your buggy, @rockcity ?

No pics but I managed to kill the engine in my tow rig on Thursday. Was on the way to Hawk Pride Offroad in Alabama but the old Vortec 350 had enough on the west side of Atlanta. Guess I better hurry up and finish the tow rig project I've been working on.

We cleaned out our spare steel rack and used all old galvanized and poop pipe to make a mobile axle storage rack/trailer.

We were tired of axles taking up shop room so decided to make something we could stored outside and roll inside to use the engine hoist to lift axles on and off.

All old pipe and rebar, all stick welded with 6011 with no cleanup, with a $75 Lincoln ac225 buzz box.

We used the axle from the s10 donor for the start and built off the leaf spring hangers I cut from the s10.

The engine, trans, and all accessories are in my 4runner swap.

Finally bought the Esab 161LTS tig/stick machine. Gonna be laying some serious beads on Abraxas here shortly! ;)

Ordered some goodies. 4.88 gears, ARB, Spartan and a Barnes skid. Headed to @MarsFab on Monday to have gears and lockers installed.

Almost finished with installing the ARB compressor

First skid plate I received looked like it had been dropped and was bent. Called @Barnes4wd Friday morning and told him it was bent on receiving. Brad said he would sent me another one and at 830am Saturday morning I had a new one on my doorstep.

Emptied the atf out of my samurais manual transmission. Gotta love previous owners. Changed the transmission and t case gear oil. Pressure washed the inside. Slimed a leaky tire. Pulled front and rear diffs from the samurai for the mini spool and Spartan installs. Put a new tarp over my Toyota truggy.

Last night I trailered my rig home from a ten-day adventure. Hit up Windrock, Dirty Turtle, Daniel Boone NF/Hollerwood, and Harlan in one calendar week. Epic, and did some snow-wheeling in the high elevations in Harlan to boot. I drove the rig to all the Kentucky spots and trailered out and back from near Ft. Knox.

That sounds like an awesome trip! Should post up a detailed story/pic thread for a trip like that.

For turn signals, I found some small 3/4" round amber LEDs front and rear and a turn signal blinker and will wire it up to a toggle

Cool. Thanks. I want to add them to the ex-racer and don't want to use a stock column. Not sure I want to use a toggle either. Was hoping you found something fancy-like.
