What improper grammer have you heard lately?

The best part about this thread are the grammatical errors that have been interlaced within it.
Just a few that caught my eye....
I heard a woman at work say "do

Yes, I know I'm an ass...
I will NEVER claim to have perfect grammar, and typo all the dadgum time.
However, if posting complaining about others....well... you should at least check yourself!

I like the title.

I wish some of you could live about 10 minutes in my life. I run a small town feedstore in one of the poorest counties in Tn. When I first bought this place it was funny, now it just makes my head hurt.

Carlin's " seven dirty words " is woefully short these days. :rolleyes:

"Ax me how I know"

"I knowed it" <-- My personal favorite.

Then there's those of you who "mash" a button instead of pressing or pushing it, and my all time favorite. People from Wilt-son. Hell, half the suff I hear, I can't figure out how to spell.

Hey, we goin' to de sto.

I always thought di-rectly meant right now. Eh, what do us westerners know. We go accrost the river out there too.:lol:

In my opinion, I don’t know what is harder to read. Bad grammar or post with no punctuation.

OK you guys seem to be having fun with this, how about a translation of the southern high country dialect, western NC style. True story. SBI agent out of Raleigh was dispatched to the northwest mountains of NC to investigate a sexual assault case. The agent took down the following statement provided by an older female who witnessed the assault. Case happened back in 70's if I remember correctly. Quote, "He had her down in the frontyard with her stepins around her ankles, a gouging her." Paints a real vivid picture doesn't it?

I know it isn't so much grammar, but i hate when people add in syllables.

I have one professor that constantly says words wrong, adding in sounds that aren't supposed to be there.

opaque => opay-ic
masonry => masonAry

Ditto!!

Or even worse, abreviations for words so that u have 2 say it "aloud" to understand it....

Welp, guilty as heck on this one, I just let 'er all hang out here.

Never did get that whole, 'diagram a sentence' thing at ALL...still cannot do this even after years of over-edumacation.

Sam...isn't any brighter than he looks...Hinton

Hey bjack, I'm just over the mountain from you in Johnson County, TN and we've got some dandy ones here too. Just this week I saw a truck with a big "For Sell" sign in it and also a sign at the local store that had a sign in the window "We Sale Lottery Ticket Here"...

I got a mexican down the road with painted sign - Chivos se vendor - and on back says Goats for sal. But the last "E" was painted over like he fixed his error.
Live in Raleigh now but I'm originally from Fall Branch close to Kingsport TN so I can relate with the East Tennesseeuns...
Ya'll! Yun's and You-uns Ain't got nury. You Reckon?
Antanym, Syntanym and Mom n nem!
But Far Eastern NC folk have a twang that is hardly understandable after living in slow motion TN. I work with one that I have to have a translator.
