The other thread got me thinking about this. What is in your BOB?
 
Pretty much what is here in morgans pack. Reading "Gong Home" really made an impact on me.

I HAD a military ruck sack on a chassis, but switched over to an FOR65 because it has straps AND can be pulled along the ground

^ holy hell that'd a bob if I've ever seen one!!! Lol I have survival blankets x4, MRE case x5, m60 soft b tac knife, fishing line and acces, waterproof matches, flint, roughly a 3'x3' char cloth in waterproof container, lip balm, 200mg, 500mg antibiotics, .45acp, .308, 500 rounds for both, life straw x4, cast iron pan 8", wool blankets coats socks, and last but not least Jim beam! Two separate bags tho and I'm sure there is stuff I'm forgetting but these things alone I can survive in the mtns long term without issue!
 
100' climbing rope and 8 carabiners in pack also

I don't have a bob per say. But I do have a back packing bag if I grabbed it a bag of rice and a 22 as I walked out the door id be fine. To much stuff is gonna make you slow and an easy target. In reality if something was ever to happen it will happen so fast no time to react or start in the bug cities then spread out. Giving me at least a day to make plans.

Honestly the show alone is a pretty good reference for a bob for going into the woods

Yup.

With a rifle and ammo, you can pretty much pick that bulky stuff up wherever you want it along the way :D
 
Couple guns, several boxes of ammo, couple knives, water purifying stuff, fire starting stuff, rope and a couple blankets. But that's basically what I take camping anyway.
 
^^^ this. I can kinda see it if youre in a big city but where u going? Everybody and their brother thinks theyre heading to the mountains so whas everybody gonna do when yall get there?

This is why my BOB is a weaponized version of my backpacking gear for a weekend walk.....in case I need to get back home.

And for the non believers in a possible SHTF senerio. Please read One Second After. It isn't some virus or nuclear war I fear. Its mankind, power grid melt down, or EMP.
My bag is short term, my plan is survival. Even if it's just a 2 to 4 week scene of localized chaos.

you can find my family and myself in a cave near the offset about 40' down with a nice breeze running water and one way in with lead pointed that direction! :sniper:
