What is the strangest most obscure tool in your tool Box?

This little square cube brake thingy.....made to fit caddy and other (?) GM (?) brake piston calipers.
But it never really fit any of the vehicles I had to get it for and it's been quite modded now.

A slack adjuster cam from a F-8000.About a foot long with a big end to hit with a BFH and the other end is almost the same size as the flat side of a balljoint. After 3-4 licks they're outta there.

Probably timing blocks for a BMW engines. Cost like $400 from BMW got them for like $100 aftermarket.

Way too many to list! Timing tools for small industrial diesels. Different seal installers for hydraulic pumps and motors. Some custom made pullers for Toro hubs... all sorts of stuff.

A drive belt removing tool for polaris 4wheelers, a three piece crank removing tool for bicycles, numerous tool and die fixtures and special tooling.

I have a GM steering column lock plate compressor. Got it about 20 years ago. Used it once.

I have two of those.

I have an 8" drop hitch with a 1 7/8" trailer ball on it...sound stupid...? you try to hook a trailer to a truck that has 18" of lift and 49's on it. in the words of Carlos Mencia "NOT GONNA HAPPEN!"

All the friends always joke about how I have everything in my tool box when we are wheeling but when they need something I have it. But the weirdest thing I have is toliet paper for when your stuck in the woods and nature calls or a flare for some unknown reason I ended up with it.

Holy smokes....I don't wheel without the TP.

Because a F250 with 18" of lift and 49's can only tow something light enough to have a 1 7/8" trailer ball on it..

I was waiting, but just figured it was toooo easy

This one is useful occasionally

I don't have anything I think of a real obscure. I have a bolt/nut welded together to serve as an allen wrench. I also have a 54mm socket for my new FJ80 front axle. Finally I have ear plugs for noisy jobs or noisy fellow campers with generators.

I was wondering when someone would say it ^^^^^^!!

...and no, I didn't steal it. A friend used to be a manager at a parts store and gave it to me.

On a similar note, a VW lug bolt, 17mm head, with a nut welded to the shaft. Drain plug remover for a beetle transmission!
Hha - I actually bought the 17mm allen wrench that attaches to a 3/8" ratchet, after royally messing up a plug with the bolt/nut trick...
I've also got a plastic clutch alignment jig in there too...and a 7mm flare nut wrench for bleeding rear brakes...

I found a chisel made in china... the skinny end ended up being a 17 mm allen :)

I actually think I welded a broken extension to the nut, so it does fit a ratchet. I don't know how you screwed up the plug, though. Mine's a pretty tight fit. Maybe coming off a water-cooled car, it hadn't seen the years of abuse yours had?
