What is this - ocean find

My kid found this at the beach over the weekend. Any idea what it is? Kinda looks like a bullet to me. Found it at North Myrtle, they have pumped a bunch of sand on to the beach there.

Is the tip lead?

It looks like a bullet to me but it could also be some kind of wine stopper that has spent a lot of time in the ocean and degraded
 
50 cal from a patrol boat that shot a russian on the deck of a sub off the coast of Florida back during the missile crisis. Duder had some serious kidney stones. This one got him in the lower back. As he sank a great white took advantage of the free meal. Bullet/stone was swallowed whole, processed and delivered just off the coast of SC. Where it stayed until you found it

Up North they use coral or other from the ocean.The news story was a guy had his drive covered with it ,back up out of the drive an got a flat. Bomb tech came out to remove a couple WW II mortars rounds, the fin is what slice his tire. I think they dumped a bunch ammo after WW II off the coast so keep looking mite find more.
