It's been a long time since I've been down there. We are coming down there in a few weeks. I know we are going to the USS North Carolina, show my kids where their great grandpa served. Where is good places to eat? Can u get a day pass to drive on beach? What are fun things for the family to do?

Eat at Flaming Amy's for sure. There are a ton of good restaurants also - Elijah's, Dockside has a nice view, etc

You can get a day pass to drive on Carolina Beach, I think it is 20 bucks now. There is a good aquarium down there also in Fort Fisher.

Just go to the south end of Kure Beach if you want to fish and drive on the beach. It's also close to the aquarium, ft fisher, and the ft fisher hermit bunker. Much less crowded and quieter.

^^^^^ dats right. Leave there, take the ferry to Southport.Walk the town.Head north on 133 and stop in at Old Brunswick Town-Ft.Anderson. Walk the fort and remains of the town and watch your feet as you walk.Might find somethin. Then continue north back to town or turn west on 74/76 and go to lake waccamaw and swim in the clear waters of that beautiful lake.

1- Eat shrimp bread at Elijah's on the river
2- Walk around the Cape Fear Serpentarium
3- Grab a slice of pizza at I Love NY pizza
4- Walk around the Cotton Exchange
5- Mail Jody some shrimp bread from Elijah's for his sincere efforts to make your trip a success

the ground is littered with the refuse of roughly 300 years of foot trafic plus shelling by the federal navy in febuary 1865. You didn't hear me say "pick it up" but it's there if you look.State park soooooooo...

Back when I was in school there were three reasons to go to Wilmington:
1. hush hush hook up #1, if i knew that i wouldn't run into reason number 2 to go to Wilmington
2. hush hush hook up #2, if i knew that I wouldn't run into reason number 1 to go to Wilmington
3. ex-gf that still wanted to hook up when she was drunk, who thought that I never went to Wilmington except to "see" her

definitely flaming amy's. if you are going to be downtown, hit up the serpenterium as already posted. if you head to Wrightsville, hit up tower 7. great food. and the fishing is picking up now too. I will be in Carolina beach 2 weeks from now. plan on doing a lot of the things list above.

Dock St. Oyster Bar
Elijah's (street construction in front, but still open)
Fat Pelican (Carolina Beach at night sans kids)
Airlie Garden (for the lady)
Battleship
Southport
Michael's Seafood (try the chowder!!!)
Ft. Fisher (historical park and aquarium)
Train museum
Cape Fear museum
Sea Turtle Hospital

Anything else is just a standard restaurant, nothing special.
